Glad to hear you have a trainer and that you're taking this slowly (see reference to my hernia repair surgery). As I see it, weight training is a journey, not a destination. Whatever you can lift; lift. I've been going nuts, waiting until I can get back at it.

I know how frustrating it is to be sidelined! Just be remember the most gains are made at the start of an exercise program so think of it that way!
I do agree about the journey!

John, don't get so antsy that you rush yourself on going back to lifting. The healing process of a hernia takes a lot longer than it may feel like it takes. You may even need to wear a lifting belt (I don't know if that's what they're called) for a while to keep from putting stress on the repair.

Trust me, BTDT with abdominal hernias.

Misty & Liv -

Thanks for your concern.

I plan to go slowly with this stuff. One surgery is enough!

The poet Robert Burns talked about "The best laid plans..." In my case, "The best planned lays..." went awry.

DW got off work late yesterday, but called to say we still had time for a quick BJ before DD#4 got home and DD#3 came over. Alas, everybody showed up at once, followed closely thereafter by a phone call from DD#1. Talk about a mood killer.

DW had given blood yesterday and passed out on the couch after dinner, with all thoughts of carnal delights obliterated.

To make matters worse, she left early this morning

Glad you found a place near your work. Does your employer offer an incentive for biking to work?
