I've noticed from other's posts that with this DVD they lost inches but gained weight. I find that inches and tone are a much healthier way to track your goals than a scale anyway. Weight's just a benchmark affected by lots of variable (ie: fat vs lean muscle mass)
Thanks for the encouragement guys. I need to make it a habit.
I'm hoping DH and I can hit the 'nude' beach here this month...would be fun.
Laura -
If you're talking about Little Beach, we were there last October (for the second time) and it was great!
Laura,
How your clothes fit and how you look in the mirror is the best measure (also those before and after pictures!)
The scale measures only one thing, not all the parameters of fitness (and sexiness which is really why we work out now isn't it???
Little Beach, AKA Little Makena Beach, is on the Southern end of Maui.
Liv: Totally agree with you...the scale is worth having for me with the thyroid...if I don't change diet and exercise and it starts going up it's one of my warning signs of needing a med evaluation. Also I can track weight changes through my cycle (we're looking at supplimenting progesterone and weight gain in the 2 weeks post ovulation is one symptom)
John...that explains it. Haven't been to Maui...just Big Island, Oahu and living here on Kauai. Heck...any deserted beach works...right?
Did day 3 of the Shred and OMG! When I woke up this am I couldn't walk with the calf stiffness and I came THIS CLOSE to not doing it today. I got my calves to release somewhat and decided to be stubborn and go for it. Well...when I hit the 2nd 2 min cardio rep...wow. It starts with butt kicks and the past 2 days my butt kicks have been 'barely-leave-the-floor' kicks. Today I went to do that and it was like a switch flipped...I was literaly kicking my own butt...and I ramped up the whole rest of the workout. It was AWESOME!
What a rush.
All my cardiac tests came back pretty good for my age. I have some plaque showing in one of the coronary arteries at 50% that the cardiologist will be watching annually. And my "calcium score" was 28. And I need to stop the Zetia and go on Lipitor and get my LDL's lower. But, I'm good to go for a while longer.
The reason I'm posting this in this thread is that the 60 minutes of hard and strenuous cardio I do on the elliptical AND all you folks that have helped me this past year to lose 15 pounds and get those cardio work-outs up to 200 watts 3 times a week have gotten me this good report.
Thank you guys - love you all.

RJJJ That's AWESOME!!! COngrats to you for all your hard work!
Day FOUR of Shred. Had the adrenaline kick again at the 2nd circuit.
I really love how much work I get in for 20 mins. I can feel it everywhere...and I'm starting to see some subtle changes (as well as feel them) Can't wait to do pic's again at 10 days and see where I am. I already can see muscle lines on my biceps that weren't there before.
MWAH! We love ya right back, Ray Jay!
Keep up the great workouts ~ we want you around for a long, long time!
I'm thinking I'm going to have to check these videos out!
Sounds like you're doing great with it, Laura.
