That's what I've been doing wrong!
I always go for the drinking ....
LOL.
(I'm thinking you could probably dance circles around some of the 20 something year olds.)

I'm doing good, thanks for asking.
In the past month, I have lost a pants size and gained three pounds, all muscle baby - LOL! My workouts aren't much more intense than they have been in the past, but they certainly are more effective. Makes me think we've hit on the right dosage of the thyroid med.
Here's what I'm doing in the way of exercise: Twice a week, I do about 45 minutes of cardio split among the elliptical, treadmill and stationary bike, and then add in some work on the weight machines (60 reps each on 4-6 different machines); and twice a week I bump up the cardio to a little more than an hour but skip the weight machines.
I'm only on level 3 resistance on the elliptical, on the treadmill I average 3.5 mph at an incline level of 6 or so, and on the stationary bike I do random hills at level 10 resistance. I can provide a complete list of the machines I use and what weights I set them at if anyone is interested.
Really, I know no one cares about this stuff except me, but I'm quite chatty about it right now.
;-)
Welcome back, BTW.
Yeah BABY! YOU ROCK!
I am so glad to hear it sounds as if your energy is coming back which is a FABULOUS sign your thyroid is stabilizing.
Don't worry what level on any machine, cardio or weight-machine or free weight- that you do as long as it is a challenge for you. When it stops being a challenge, time to change it up!
I DO care BTW>
You want to know my routine?? well for the month of October at least- No two workout are exactly the same for me but this is my outline for the next 4 weeks:
5 days cardio-3 are high intensity intervals and 2 are steady state-30 to 45 minutes. I switch between spin class or stair climber or arch trainer with the rowing machine in for a little more variety.
4 days weights. I do almost all free weights and for this month it is one body part per week glutes and quads; chest and back; shoulders, triceps, biceps; hamstrings, glutes(again)and calves. AND I hit them heavy and hard.
1 day functional-think boot camp-crazy push-ups, pull ups, mountain climbers, burpees...
2 days hot yoga on my "rest" days--ah better than a massage.
Not that anyone cares-but, ladies!!! heavy lifting does not make you big, just a lean, mean fighting machine! ;-)
Also this may sound like a lot but I get in and out of the gym on the days I do my weights and cardio in less than an hour and a half and that includes socializing!. Yoga is between 40 and 90 minutes.

I'm good!!!!
Just got back from a little out of town trip, combining some business with a visit to a friends house. Now I have DH on my hands (and hopefully some other parts of my body) for the next several days.
It's great to see that you're focused on your exercising again. I think the last time we talked, you had stepped back a bit from it.
Is everything going good for you? Mom?
