Giving oral sex to uncircumcised penis
| Tue, 03-22-2005 - 10:56pm |
My bf is uncircumcised, and I don't really like giving oral b/c of the excessive skin and the secretion hidden underneath the skin. I tried to clean it with facial tissues before oral but it seems that he doesn't like it when I wipe it down because he said it hurts a little (even though I tried to do it gently, I guess the head is more sensitive due to always being underneath the skin). He likes it when I give him oral before putting it in. Is there a difference in terms of giving oral to an uncircumcised penis and circumcised penis? What should I do?

If you are actually referring to his pre-ejaculate fluid, which is very natural and normal, then you probably will encounter that sometime the oral anyway.
In fact, we have to wonder now just how clean he may actually be after all in light of this extra info you provided. Can you confirm if this fluid was there from him not washing or if it was there he first became excited?
That is interesting that you have such a problem with the pre-ejaculate, if thats what is going on with him of course, because you do provide oral for him until the actual finish, then you've obviously encountered much more of that fluid when he orgasmed anyway.
I am more for cleanliness just before any oral anyway, not everyone sees it the same, but if it helps you then go ahead and request that of him I'd say.

You started out talking about what was under the foreskin. That's lack of proper hygiene. Now you're complaining about pre-ejaculate, which is an entirely different thing. The majority of men leak a little of it whenever they have sex, and before they ejaculate, and they can't control that.
Try having a lot of saliva in your mouth, which will dilute it. Make sure he drinks enough fluids, too. Some people believe that eating or drinking sweet things will make it taste better, but I doubt that very much.....since by the time any fluids get into your system from drinking, they've been filtered by the kidneys, and all that's left is the filtered fluid.
AS the others have said, it now sounds like he's keeping himself clean and the clear substance is infact, pre-cum. It's a clear and virtually colourless fluid that is produced to "clean out" the plumbing so to speak. It neutralises any acids in the tubes in his penis because the sperm in semen are very sensitive to pH and acidity. It will "leak" out when he gets erect and sexually excited. As said, some guys produce very little, some guys produce a lot.
If he wasn't keeping himself clean there would be a strong smelling, whitish, cheesy substance under the foreskin called smegma which is combination of natural skin oils and tiny skin particles.
Perhaps you can push the foreskin back before you put your mouth on him and dilute it a little with some saliva first. I would have thought that you'd be sliding the foreskin back anyway. I know it sounds messy, but just spit onto your fingers or dribble onto his penis, move it around with your hand with a few strokes and I don't think that you'll notice or taste it after that.
"Smegma is probably the most misunderstood, most unjustifiably maligned substance in nature. Smegma is clean, not dirty, and is beneficial and necessary. It moisturizes the glans and keeps it smooth, soft, and supple. Its antibacterial and antiviral properties keep the penis clean and healthy. All mammals produce smegma. Thomas J. Ritter, MD underscored its importance when he commented, 'The animal kingdom would probably cease to exist without smegma.'" ("Where Is My Foreskin? The Case Against Circumcision," by Paul M. Fleiss, MD, Mothering, Winter 1997)
"Analogous to tears, smegma is the compilation of secretions by ectopic sebaceous glands located in the prepuce, the seminal secretions of the Cowper's gland and the prostate, the mucin content of the secretions of the urethral glands, and the sloughed epithelial cells. It provides the necessary mucosal lubricant and moisturizer and is rich in sexual pheromones. The prepuce normally prevents detection of this phenomenally charged scent until the glans is exposed at the time erection takes place." (Routine Neonatal Circumcision: An Update, by Robert S. Van Howe, MD)
"Is smegma useful? Yes, certainly. It lubricates the cavity between the foreskin of the penis and the glans, thus allows smooth movement between them during intercourse ... Nature has ... provided a natural ointment, smegma, to ensure easy lubrication and protect this delicate region of the male genital organ. / To secure its even distribution, smegma is formed from the whole inner surface of the foreskin cavity ... Smegma production ... is concentrated in the cells of innumerable small prominences, minute microscopic protrusions of various shapes and sizes found on the inner surface of the foreskin cavity ... Sexual intercourse becomes a regular feature of life and the function of smegma assumes its full value ... Freshly formed smegma ... is a wholesome lubricant--making for ease in erection and smoothness in sexual intercourse." ("How Smegma Serves the Penis," by Joyce Wright, MD, Sexology, 10/70, pp. 50-53)
"If allowed to accumulate for several years, smegma might possibly cause some irritation. But, even this is doubtful." (Modern Sex Techniques, by Robert Street, Lancer Books, NY, 1959, p. 154)
These are excerpts from foreskin.org. I am also uncircumcised and have debated (with myself) many times about getting an adult circumcision. The more I read though, the less it appeals to me. My wife is perfectly happy with how my penis operates and has told me she does NOT want me to get "snipped". The fact is, men with foreskin enjoy sexual stimulus more. When not having sex, the head is protected and kept moist. Imagine if you kept your hands in soft gloves with moisturizer all day, no callouses would form and they'd be much softer and sensitive right? Circumsized mens penis's have a tougher skin because of the friction of clothing, thus reduced sensitivity. When uncirced men have sex or masturbate, the foreskin moves back and forth and creates a "gliding" sensation. Also, most of the nerves in the penis are located in the foreskin. Ladies, could you imagine a society where females ordinarily receive clitoral circumcision for no reason except to deter sexual activity? It does happen to women in this world and that is the main reason male circumcision was started in THIS country. In the 19th century, it was thought that if boys were circumcised they would not masturbate because it would be like rubbing the skin on your arm, no sensation, thus no masturbation. Sex would be for procreation only - not enjoyment. We've come a long way since then, except for this idea that uncirced men are dirty and it's unhealthy to keep the foreskin. That's absolutely untrue, or it wouldn't be there at birth! As for the cleanliness, it is absolutely easy to keep clean. Pull the skin back and clean it! Voila! However, the normal secretions during foreplay (pre-cum) is NOT dirty and should not be wiped away. That's like saying the natural lubrication of a woman should be wiped away and dried before oral sex. Yes, it's designed to prepare the woman for intercourse, but that doesn't mean men don't enjoy the taste, because we do!
The long endorsement of "smegma" may be great from a man's point of view, but I know of no clinician who does not recommend keeping the foreskin and what's under it clean. Veternarians charge quite a bit to "clean the sheath" of pure bred or other types of horses and would not reommend this if it was healthy. In primordal man, who cared nothing about the welfare of the female, perhaps it did provide more lubrication and pleasure. But the Jews knew 10,000 years ago that it was bad stuff and they solved this with circumcision, which is still the preferred procedure today in major health care centers.
In addition to all of this, it can fester and become infected, carries bacteria which are not good for women (it is a known carcinogen and a contributor to cervial cancer. )God knows what happens if you swallow it or have it in your mouth for awhile.
Look up sebaceous in a medical dictionary. It is awful. Every had a 'whitehead' break out on your face, and then you squeezed it and 'pus' came out? That was a sebeaceous cyst and the pus is the same stuff.
Don't believe me, go to www.WebMd.com
You must not know many clinicians then. The trend is STOP circumcising, not to continue it. Personally, being uncircumcised, I'm offended that you think I can't keep it clean on my own. It DOES provide me a lot of pleasure. As far as the "cancer" you referred to, this is unproven and unbased in fact. It is an EXCUSE from old, not a reason based on new research. There is absolutely no reason for circumcising. What is gained? Nothing. What is lost? Read on. Also check out the link at the bottom of the post. Hey, when you're finished and you try to learn a little, maybe if you still think it's a good idea to circumcise , maybe you can looking into getting a clitoral circumcision! There are many countries that believe this is a necessary and required procedure also. No? I thought not.
Here's what is lost to circumcision:
1. The frenar band of soft ridges--the single most pleasure producing zone on the male body. Loss of this densely innervated and reactive belt of tissue reduces the sensitivity of the remaining penis to about that of ordinary skin.
2. Approximately half of the temperature reactive smooth muscle sheath called the dartos fascia.
3. Specialized epithelial Langerhans cells, a component of the immune system.
4. An estimated 240 feet of microscopic nerves, including branches of the dorsal nerve.
5. Between 10,000 to 20,000 specialized erotogenic nerve endings of several types, which can discern slight motion, subtle changes in temperature, and fine gradations in texture. This loss includes thousands of coiled fine-touch receptors called the Meissner's corpuscles - the most important sensory component in the foreskin.
6. Estrogen receptors the purpose and value of which are not yet fully understood.
7. More than 50% of the mobile penile skin, the multi-purpose covering of the glans, that shields all of the specialized penile skin from abrasion, drying, and callusing (by keratin cell layering), and protects it from dirt and other contaminants. The debilitating sexual consequences of keratinizing the glans have never been studied.
8. The immunological defense system of the soft mucosa, which may produce antibacterial and antiviral proteins such as lysozyme, also found in mothers milk, and plasma cells, which secrete immunoglobulin antibodies.
9. Lymphatic vessels, the loss of which interrupts the lymph flow within a part of the bodys immune system.
10. The frenulum, the very sensitive "V" shaped web-like tethering structure on the underside of the glans; usually amputated along with the foreskin, or severed, which destroys its functionality.
11. The apocrine glands of the inner foreskin, which produce pheromones—nature's powerful, silent, invisible behavioral signals to potential sexual partners. They contribute significantly to sexuality. Their loss is unstudied.
12. Ectopic sebaceous glands, which lubricate and moisturize.
13. The essential "gliding" mechanism. If unfolded and spread out flat, the average adult foreskin measures about 15 square inches, the size of a postcard. This abundance of specialized, self-lubricating mobile skin gives the natural penis its unique hallmark ability to smoothly "glide" in and out within itself—permitting natural non-abrasive masturbation and intercourse, without drying out the vagina or requiring artificial lubricants.
14. The pink to red to dark purple natural coloration of the glans, normally an internal organ, like the tongue.
15. A significant amount of the penis circumference because its double layered wrapping of loose foreskin is now missing making the circumcised penis defectively thinner than a full-sized intact penis.
16. As much as one inch of the erect penis length due to amputation when the connective tissue is torn apart during "circumcision." This shared membrane tightly fuses the foreskin and the glans together while the penis develops. Ripping it apart wounds the glans, leaving it raw and subject to infection, scarring, and shrinkage.
17. Several feet of blood vessels, including the frenular artery and branches of the dorsal artery. The loss of this dense vascularity interrupts normal blood flow to the shaft and glans of the penis, obviously damaging its natural function and possibly stunting its complete and healthy development.
18. Every year boys lose their penises altogether from botched "circumcisions" and infections accidents happen. They are then "sexually reassigned" by transgender surgery and must live their lives as females.
19. Every year many boys lose their lives from the complications of medically unnecessary circumcisions. The cause of these deaths are a fact the billion dollar per year circumcision industry willfully obscures and conceals.
20. Although not yet proved scientifically, there is considerable new evidence that an incomplete penis loses its capacity for the subtle electromagnetic "cross-communication" that occurs only during contact between two mucous membranes, and which contributes to the perception of sexual ecstasy. In other words, medically unjustified foreskin amputation of boys ultimately diminishes the intensity of orgasms for both men and women!
