Yes, it is the price of equality.
Her own laundry because the delicates are a pain to launder.
My laundry, half the housework inside, the yard (natural green thumb).
The other half of the house work ( we switch each week).
The yard is my main responsibility, my turn for house cleaning.
I completely agree with that article.
Suki, I think that's one of the most important things to point out. Even as a WAHM or SAHM, I have always had a full workday. I don't mind most of the chores being part of that work day, but I still get resentful when it's assumed I'll do everything. I always feel closer to DH on the days that the two of us work together, even if it's just doing the after dinner dishes.
My DH is a great guy, and he'll do anything I ask ... the frustrating part is that I have to ask most of the time.

You are absolutely right on that, Misty!
That's great, Mac.
Out of curiosity, did your dad help out around the house a lot? Did you have a lot of household chores when you were growing up?
I only have one brother, and my parents raised us to do chores. Only problem is they gave him what they considered the "boy" chores, and me the "girl" chores. It sucked. He had to mow the grass (seasonal) and feed the dog. I had to do the dishes every night (no dishwasher), and a lot of cooking, cleaning and laundry. (I won't go on that rant.) Anyway, I wonder how much that sort of upbringing contributes later in life.

Is that because you don't have any kitchen talent?
Just curious, who does the general house cleaning (vacumming, dusting, scrubbing tubs, etc.) and grocery shopping?
