do guys get turned off if the girl's bikini area isn't completely smooth and hairless? I mean, after we get waxed, the hair needs to be a certain length before it can be waxed again.

do you even notice that she is in between waxing cycles? I'm not even dating anyone and my last BF was always away on business trips. We didn't date long, so luckily the timing was good and I was always waxed, so I'm just wondering, thanks.

I'm not talking about Greeks and Romans here. My main interest is in our current history, not how a trend might have developed and changed over thousands of years. Here we have a radical shift and I want to know why? What is it that all the sudden made having hair down there out of fashion? Was it pornography? The fashion and beauty industry? To all the sudden change from hair being common-place to almost rare on women down there deserves some sort of looking into because it was an extreme shift. I totally agree with the fact that it should be a girls choice but I hardly believe that within a decade nearly all women just decided that hair wasnt cool and as a group decided to go bald or nearly bald. And to let you know there are many many girls out there who are influenced by guys and theirt perceptions of what guys are attracted to and for whatever reason many do make the decision that hair isnt cool based on the idea that they will look better and be attractive. Call it a conspiracy, call me crazy, whatever but its the damn truth because I hear these things all the time.

I'm an old fashioned girl, to put it simply. Shaving or waxing the pubic area is gross and harmful. The hair is there for a reason.

What about people seeing it when wearing a bikini? I don't wear them- not because I don't like my body but because I'm modest. Goes back to being old fashioned. If you really want to show it off on the other hand, bare it all and go to a nudist beach. :)

How do you know it is a huge shift? How do you know how many women do or don't shave? Have or haven't been shaving? You think it is a huge shift, pehaps in your experience it is, but your bubble doesn't represent the whole of what is even in your community. Unless, of course, you have taken some huge poll that is not just national but worldwide, than your perspective is jut that YOOR PERSPECTIVE! Does some of what yo say ring true, of course, but don't go all Ad absurdum in your arguement. YOU say it's a recent trend, I pointed out to you that it is a trnd of mileniums not just our small wink in time. I know many women who shave because they love the way it feels. What does it matter what got them started if they enjoy the feeling. Unlees of course you want to argue that these women are mistaken, and have been brainwashed into thinking they like the feeling. I assume that you aren't influenced by every trend, every ad, every "societal shift" that comes around, give the same credit to the ladies, they aren't mindless sheep.

The coffee is on, do you smell it?

I did not call you an idiot, nor did I imply that you were such. Don't make generalized statements based on your own opinion. Whenever any of us does this it makes us all sound like idiots. I have been guilty of this just as you.

First off I never said the results were in. if you are interested her research can be found at www.pubicrelations.org She is doing the best she can to get a very large worldwide poll and study done on the subject. If you feel so inclined I think you can still fill a survey out. I am not doing the research she is. My specialization is not in research or finding out the statistical significance of findings and i'm not getting into some sort of academic debate here because I doubt you yourself have big time research on the subject either. Frankly I hate academic pissing contests because thats all they are. I spent enough time in critiques and watching people throw around their academia power in whil attaining my masters degree and I could honestly care less. If you will notice many of my ideas have been based on personal experiences and I have asked many questions as to the causes of what I have been hearing. I am mostly interested in this trend within the United States because I live in this country. Since you wanted to go all international on me I led you to the research that I know is going on at the moment. All you have to do is look at a Playboy magazine from 1975, 1985, 1995, and 2005 and you will see a drastic difference in grooming down there. PLayboy is somewhat of an American icon and its something bigger than my backyard. The magazine pulls models from all over the country and all of the sudden wouldnt you know it 9 out of 10 are either completely shaved or nearly so as opposed to the 90s, 80's, 70s, 60s, etc. This change happened over the course of 4-5 years at most and why? Obviously the marketing folks at Playboy were putting out three what was going on or what was or is "sexy" at the time. Maybe they cant find playboy models with hair anymore? What is it and why? Thats the question I have been asking? Why? All the sudden women realized it just feels better? Thats it? Word finally got out after at least 40 years in this country? I think not. There are other factors influencing this and I am asking what and why?

It seems, as I glamce back at your original statement, it was just that, a statement. It did not seem to me to be so much a question as your condemnnation of a current, in you view, trend. P;ayboy, and it's models, do not, at least for me, represent even a small cross section of the female population. There are, no doubt, many influences on habits, fashion and porn are without a doubt two of the biggies.

The bottom line is that I go hor bare and you go for hair, we both give our ladies freedom of choice. It's a free country and maybe one day, far away, it will be a free world. I like it, not because of porn or fashion, or even bathing suit rends but, because i like to run my tongue over the smooth, sexy, slippery softness. If you don't hey more power to you.
