Have you ever gotten wet during a gynocological exam?
- No, there's nothing sexy about it.
- Only once, and it was embarrassing.
- Only once, but I wasn't embarrassed.
- A few times, and it was embarrassing.
- A few times, but I wasn't embarrassed.
- Most of the time, and it's embarrassing.
- Most of the time, but I'm not embarrassed.
- Almost always, and it's embarrassing.
- Almost always, but I'm not embarrassed.

Do you get turned on when you go for a colonoscopy?!
Having a female nurse present during your gynaecological exam may occur where you live, but not over here in New Zealand. I have never had a nurse present, unless they are the ones doing the exam. I have never asked for one to be present as I haven't worried about my safety. However, if I ever had concerns about the professional behaviour of my gynaecologist or my doctor, I would find someone else that I felt more comfortable with.
I voted that I have never been aroused during an exam. The exams are very clinical, and do not take long. Add to that the cold lubricant, speculum and gloved hands, and it hardly makes for an arousing experience. My gynaecologist is nearly old enough to retire and I don't find him attractive.
I have had quite a few exams in the few years since I turned 18, due to various issues, and they do not bother me at all. They have been done by my doctors, nurses and several gynaecologists. I am talked through every exam as each step occurs, so that I know what is about to occur (even though I already know). In fact, every year my gynaecologist and I hold a conversation about my university studies and what I've been up to in the past year, due to having similar interests.

I find nothing sexy about the exams. However, I did almost climax while in labor. When the doctor was putting in this medicine on my cervix to help it dialate she was kind of packing it in and out. I was just so sensitive that if she would have kept it up for like 5 more minutes it would have been the best labor EVER!

Having the nurse present has nothing to do with the professionalism of the dr. though. It's to protect the dr. against claims of misconduct from the patient!
This is a very litigious society we live in and there are many claims of malpractice that drive the drs. insurance so high so they must protect themselves by having a female nurse present.
So, whether a dr. is reputatable or not, he still has to pay the same exorbinant malpractice insurance fees.
In almost every case, I've had a nurse present during the exam.
