I don't know of any websites on the subject, although I'm sure there are. But masturbation is a relatively individual thing, no one can tell you what is going to work for YOU. It's an experiment and every one does it differently. Some women insert things, some just use clitoral stimulation, some use the showerhead or tub faucet, some read erotica to get 'going', some lay on their back, some on their tummy. You just have to play around (pun intended) and see what works for you.

As far as household items, your hand is one of the most reliable and available things to use. Water from a showerhead is also a good one, you can control the pressure, temp, and angle. If you're thinking of items to insert in your vagina, be sensible when choosing, if a sex toy isn't an option. But don't use anything that can break, splinter, shred or anything like that. Glass isn't good. And don't insert anything open-end in (such as a bottle) that could create suction and get stuck.

At the top of our message board page, located here:

http://www.ivillage.com/relationships/boards

...there's a bar near the top. Check the "ivillage" option and enter your search criteria, in this case it would be masturbation.

Just as a caution, maybe it'd be safer/wiser to stick with sex toys that were actually made for that purpose rather than risking anything with household items. I use to be a Red Cross volunteer stationed at the hospital and I was witness to some...uh...er...um...emergency room events regarding this. :(

Be careful, happy hunting, post back if we can help ya more.
