How can you tell penis size?

Hi all,
New to the board and have a question for girls - how can you tell the size of your BF/DH penis whether it is 5 or 6 inches or whatever? I have seen just a few myself and I can't really tell exact measurements. I have been reading on some posts here where girls talk about those specific inches about their BF's penis. Do girls measure them or is it just their best estimates?
Thanks.

Why does anyone care? It is what it is......and measuring it doesn't make it fit any better or work any better. And, it can also vary from time to time.....sometimes it can be "harder" (therefore larger) than other times. Also, lenghth is only one measurement, there is also girth.
I mean really, will it make ANY difference to you to know that it's 5.5" as opposed to 6"? As long as it works, and it makes you happy.....isn't that enough?
Yes, some actually get the ruler out and measure them. For what reason? I don't have a clue. It's not as if you can order a new one if it doesn't measure up to your expectations.
I don't know what the significance of the number is for the woman, but for the man, well, apparently, for far too many, it CAN be the sole source of his shame or pride. It's sad, really.
I think it's more for knowledge of what is. We humans are always comparing. Weight, height, breast size, butt size, penis length and girth. Whether testicles are large or small or hang down or tight. Eye color, broad shouldrs or not...everything.
The media and many other factors make this even more prevalent.
One interesting (to me) thought I had was this.
If a person stretches out thumb and forefinger and measures it...then guestimates the length of a penis from that....I would bet that men and women alike would find their result of an actual 5.5" penis to be "about 6" and not "about 5"
In other words, even if it is not important to women. If they were discussing with friends, the 5.5 would in fact be guestimated to be 6. Why?, because it would be assumed more positively accepted by their peers.
Just a thought.
Maybe, for some men & women. But I've never measured a penis in my life. And never plan to.
And I don't compare myself to anyone else anymore. With age, comes acceptance.
I appologize ladies if I got anyone's hair standin.
I(we) are talking about penis size right here and now. I was thinking about it and was refering to those "people" who do care about it for whatever reason. and attemp to guestimate ...for those, if they're going to care enough to get a measurement or guestimation, then they are doing it for a reason...to know...for a reason. whatever it is.
I appreciate that some do not care in any way, shape or form.
If my post came across as saying that "all" people do, then I'm sorry.
I meant "all" who measure anything of this sort, for any reason.
I will go crawl back into my little hole now.
Awwwww, please come on out and play again! I knew what you meant, but I still don't understand the size thing. Particularly for a woman! It is what it is, and if she's hung up on a particular size, and she meets Mr. Wonderful.......if he's an inch short, is that a deal breaker? Especially since size has NO bearing on expertise!
I guess I can understand a guy being curious about himself, since it's his "manhood" and I think every guy I've ever known has had the "numbers". However, I've never challenged anyone to a "measure off" to make sure they're not lying! (because I don't CARE!)
It's kind of like a woman's breast size. Women HAVE to know their size to buy bras.....but if they go to a "fitter" they can find out that they've been wearing the wrong size, and therefore they've been quoting the wrong size too. And just as MOST women don't care about a man's size, I don't think that MOST men care about what size a woman's breasts are, as long as she has them, and they're available to him.
Hey Luv, I just checked, and my back isn't up. LOL!
I know alot of people want to know statistics out of simple curiosity. But it's not a given that all, or even most men or women, feel they're necessary to know. As you said.
