Hi, I posted earlier asking if it was normal for a 33-year-old guy to need physical manipulation to achieve an erection...thank you so much to everyone who responded. Your responses help put my mind at ease :-) I have a new question about vasectomy and how it affects semen, specifically the taste. Would it make it taste any better?

I don't have any experience tasting anyone's semen other than my own, and I've never had a vasectomy, but I would think that what he eats and drinks would have a greater effect on how it tastes than whether or not he's had a vasectomy.

Here's one answer I was able to find by pasting your question into Google:

Does vasectomy alter the taste or smell of semen?

NO KIDDING! This question has been asked a few times in the newsgroup, and is in the top ten keywords used to search this site! The threads in the newsgroup came to the conclusion that there is no difference, except for one lady who said her husband's sperm smelled different after he had had a reversal. We also address the questions of volume, colour and consistency of semen after a vasectomy in our on-line survey along with many other important issues. Basically men who have had a vasectomy say that it doesn't affect the qualities mentioned, nor does it affect the consistency or adhesive properties. I.E. it will still stick to dresses, body hair and gum up shower trays and make just as much mess as it always used to.

I had a vasectomy some years ago and didn't notice any change whatsoever. I think everything is the same except the sperm duct is cut off to keep live sperm from entering in the semen. No more tadpoles swimming arounding hunting for an egg to fertilize.

Having a vasectomy DOES NOT affect the taste of semen. The ONLT difference is that there wouldn't be any sperm in his semen when he ejaculates because the tubes where the sperm travels out has been cut and both ends has been clapped to where any sperm can travel through them. That is the only difference,So like I mentioned when he ejaculates there will not be any sperm in his ejaculate, meaning he will not be able to get you pregnant.

Again for as the taste goes, there is NO different, because I have had one.

Hope this helps
