This may be wierd, but I though this the best place to ask this.My husband and I just moved into a condo that has hardwood floors. The soun echoes like crazy. Our biggest problem is that our bed ends up scooting across the floor as we have sex. We bought thost little rubber pads to but the bed on, but they don't work. Do any of you have any ideas on how o keep the bed put?

The only other thing i could suggest would be to get a good area rug to put under your bed, you can get them with a rubber like backing, or non-slip backing...this should help with the bed not moving, and if you get one that is large enough it should help absorb the sound as well...That is about all i can think of, but then again, i have not had this problem before, we had hardwood floors in our last bedroom, but had no problem with the bed moving...maybe it depends on the weight of the bed...we do have a king size wicker sleigh bed...

Welcome to the board, manicmamma.

I'm not sure what kind of rubber pads you're using under the bed. One thing that I have found that is nearly impossible to have anything slide on is rubber shelf lining or the rubber that is purchased separately to put under area rugs. The shelf liner is often available at dollar stores, but I'm not sure if the nap on that is strong enough for a bed. (The weight might mat it down enough that it doesn't work.)

A couple of other possiblities:

- cut up an old bath mat that has the no slide backing

- get those feet that are put under furniture and put them under the wheels or posts that aren't too big.

Let us know when you find something that works well for you.
