People are talking about it! Spirit Airlines has an ad campaign going on for "M.I.L.F.", and consumers are wondering whether advertisers overlooked the meaning, or what?

Check out what channel 2 is saying: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/14748793/detail.html

What do you think?

You can bet they know exactly what it means -- and no doubt came up with "Many Islands, Low Fares" precisely because it forms the same acronym! I worked for several years with lots of different advertising and promotions people; trust me, they're not a naive bunch...

As I mentioned elsewhere, the funniest part to me is that the Channel 2 article managed to studiously avoid explaining what the acronym stands for.

I agree with Em that most advertising and marketing people are experts at innuendo and double entendre. They knew exactly what they were doing with this campaign.

Had to be! Even if the originator didn't get it, someone in the chain certainly did! It will be interesting to see if customers start complaining. "Ummmm, customer service agent, I didn't get my MILF -- the ad says that was part of the package!"

In some ways, you gotta hand it to 'em. Grabbing attention is 99% of the advertising battle -- I'd say they did a good job on that one!
