Okay, who's feeling jolly, and who isn't?

I thought it would be great to have a thread during this especially stressful, yet jolly, season where anyone could come to vent or just chat.

I'm feeling a bit stressed out today. I have a short list of gifts that I have decided on, and a long list of gifts that I still need to discover. My decorations are all still in the attic, my cookies need baked, and I need to think about holiday cards. My get up and go seems to have got up and went when it comes to Christmas this year.

Typically, I'm glowing by this time. Have most of my shopping done, set my Christmas music on and go about baking and decorating. The thought of even listening to Christmas music is making me fidgety.

I'm hoping for a better outlook tomorrow.

Okay, I'll add that in some countries, it's no longer politically correct to say Ho, Ho, Ho. Hmmmm, puzzling, but if I've offended anyone, Ha, Ha, Ha!

Hope your wife is feeling better, Rich. Any chance you'll get a rain check for last night?

I was indeed on a white sand beach last night.

I think the memories will help to feed my fantasies for some time ...

Mrs P, it appears you have picked a lovely site for your stocking.

You might want to check out the stockings we are filling on the toy board.

I know you could also hang your stocking there, I'm sure we could find some sand ....

Oh, to walk along a sandy beach would be so divine right about now, here its colder then my body wants it to be. Tonight, the fireplace goes on. To sit all cuddled up with a blanket, and watching the flames dance around is very relaxing.

Bears, do you have a white Christmas most years? I have had a few of those in my lifetime. If I could pick just that time of year, and be guaranteed snow, I would love it.

In Florida, they sometimes make fake snow for the kids to play in. We haven't ventured to see any of that yet. Fireplaces are actually very popular here. Often, the day warms up enough, so you don't want the heat on, but the fireplace takes the morning chill out of the house.

I'm really glad we already got the baking underway in this thread! I am sooooo enjoying the cookies this morning. Here's some to share, and coffee too!

Any progress stories in this crowd?

I'm still not decorated, other than 2 poinsettias on the front porch.

I need to purchase some cards this week. Last night, I was going to get the kids school pictures together for them and discovered that I made a big error with one sons pictures. I put the check in the envelope and selected from the proofs -- but NEVER returned it to the school (oops)! Today, I have to call the company and see how I can fix that!!!!!

On Friday, the decorations are coming down out of the attic. Before that time, I need to clear some floor space in the garage so they can have a place to hang out until they're put to use.

I organized all the gifts I have gotten so far, and see that I don't have to far to go (maybe half way done).

Hmmmm. Still not inspired.

Does anyone have a favorite holiday tune? Maybe I can get that stuck in my head, lol.

I'm hoping to get my cookie tins out of the attic tonight. I have all those easy cookies to make (pre-made cookie dough from a fund raiser), which is a different step for me. I usually bake about 7 or 8 types of cookies, all from scratch. Since I have that cookie dough, I'm going to just add my progressive chocolate chips and oatmeal raisin.

I still have to watch the game store every day this week for their shipment. Cross your fingers that I fall into some luck! My youngest son only has 3 gifts on his wish list, and this is the only one we're willing to go for (a Wii). Once I get that, I have one more gift to shop for where the kids are concerned (YAY). Once they're done, I can focus on everyone else, lol.

How are you doing with your shopping?
