When I was a young teenager, an older teenager/very young adult, gave me a book "Sex and the Teenage Girl". I remember reading some things that I mentioned to my mom, and she seemed clueless. I definitely learned that she wasn't the person I would ask. I guess back then, if I had a burning question, I would have asked the girl that gave me the book to begin with, but in all honesty, I didn't really feel like there was anyone to ask.
This year at my gyn visit, I tried to talk to her about my increased libido and the affects hormones could have on that. She basically poo-pooed the idea that anything related to menopause could actually increase libido. Maybe she was just in too much of a hurry, but it sort of made me feel like I couldn't talk openly with her about it either.
Also earlier this year, I was seeing a counselor for PTSD from a car accident. Seems we talked about a lot of things other than the accident, including my overall health and increased libido. I felt very comfortable talking to her about it, and I felt that she had a healthy outlook too.
As far as very specific questions about individual sexual acts that we often find (or ask) here on the boards, I don't think I would have ever asked anyone other than hubby about those sorts of things. I have a couple of friends that have asked me for "instructions" or advice over the years. Perhaps I would have asked them had they not already been seeking advice from me.
Honestly I've kept most questions to myself until i found these boards.. The other questions i learned on my own. Sex has never been open for discussion when i was younger and I NEVER felt relaxed enough to talk or ask about it.. Most things i really want to know about are on the web!! LOL completely discreet very much the way i like it as far as questions.. The boards have really made a difference I love the openness here Couldn't ask for better people!!
Probably my friend Cheryl. She is an ob/gyn nurse... Or I could ask one of the
