I see it has been a while, indeed. Hopefully some of your board friends are still around and will chime in. While there are probably several new faces, there's a great group of people here, so feel free to jump in and share any time you would like.
You really ARE still on these message boards. Cut down to being CL of just one board, huh? (Its about time!, LOL!)
Woodpeckers in our siding, squirrels in our awning, chipmunks in our garage, woodchucks under our shed, deer & rabbit bedding in our snowcovered garden...
...bet ya can't tell we were calling your name! LOL! YES, we really are having a baby! Can you believe it?!! After being together for over a decade, we're finally having our own! I don't think I'll ever calm down...I don't know!
Okay, I don't know if this is allowed, but I'm just gonna copy and paste from another board. Lots happened, but here are a couple of highlights:
Against Mrs. Para's advice, I joined a larger business competitor through an Operations Manager job. Because of our history of good standing, they allowed me to keep my own small business so long as we did not compete against one another. Eventually, they decided to change my duties since I wasn't willing to surrender my clients over to them. I had SUPER chance to blow them out of the water with a discrimination suit because of who they replaced me with. I instead got them to "pay" me to keep peaceful about it by having them sub-contract my business. Timestamp on this message should prove that I'm still the same workaholic as always. ;)
Mrs. Para eventually forgave me and is stunned that all has turned out so well so far. YES, I still have my own clients anyway.
Hats off, everybody...I lost my vehicle (bugle playing in the background). It was the one I used for business too. Someone fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the back of my vehicle at highway speed while I was waiting at a red light. Most of the back pain is gone, but I lost the vehicle and am now sharing Mrs. Para's. Fortunately she wasn't with me. Sleeping driver survived, wasn't drinking either.
I couldn't claim injury because if something VERY serious happened down the road, then my claim would interfere with that. So I'm trying to play it wise.
Mrs. Para was unfairly treated at her former job, so she had changed jobs, and for less money too. Her former boss tried to make her feel uneasy about it. Nowadays, Mrs. Para's current job has caught up to her previous pay and her former boss is seeking help in finding a job herself since that company is being bought out, resulting in layoffs.
God still holding our hand no matter what we go through. Amazing!
Now...
We're having our own BABY!!! Due sometime this summer.
I still won't be able to stick around and post like I use to, but its fun to see who I recognize while I have the chance. Too excited to not shout from the hilltops about baby Para arriving this summer.
Congratulations on the exciting news!

PARA?
Wow!
That's wonderful news!! Best of luck to you!
Wendy
Misty, I think I do remember you.
Thank you for the congrats, and congrats to YOU for CL of the Month! With so many of them, whew, that is REALLY an amazing achievement.
Can I guess that this very board, not that it has always been a unique challenge or anything (LMHO), had something to do with that? ;)

Thank you everybody! Mrs. Para & I do recognize some of you. Nice to read that all is still well with many of you.
This has turned out to be a very welcoming board. Hopefully we'll find time to post here or there. Schedules are still pinched, so no promises.
Please take care!
:)
