This was my first time having sex and I have a question about inserting the penis in the missionary position. Does the guy usually have to guide it in using his hands or does it go in without any effort without hands? The guy I was with didn't use his hands and couldn't get it to go in, so he said we should try it with me on top. We did and it worked better but shouldn't he have guided it into my vagina to begin with?

There is no should or shouldn't, it's whatever works for that person.

I have been having sex with ny wife for more that 20 years. I have had to use my hand to guide my erection into her every time. There is no special magic to penitration, either he takes his erection in his hand or you take his erection in your hand guide it in.

Are you applying any lubricant to your labia before he enters you? Some lubricant can help his erection slide into you much more comfortably.

First time having sex? Then, it may have been more difficult to penetrate in that position anyway. That's not unusual. But don't worry about it. There is no woulda, coulda or shoulda, only what works for both of you.

My DH is able to penetrate in several positions hands-free, but that doesn't mean that every man should be able to though.

As everyone else has said, it varies. For 22 years DW has been guiding me inside of her, and I've also been in relationships where it has gone in hands free. Whatever works.

The thing is that he just tried to get it in hands-free a couple of times and it didn't work. I don't why he didn't guide it in. He says he's experienced sexually so he should know better. I didn't know since it was my first time. I'll know better next time anyway.

I always smile when someone claims that they're "experienced" and should know better. While your guy may be experienced with others, he isn't experienced with YOU so it's a whole new ball of wax now. And with each and every partner. Our bodies can vary just enough so that we have to figure out what works with each one every time.
