Ok this is very embarassing for me to ask but im not sure how else to find out. Ive been with a guy for a year and he just started to ejaculate inside of me, yes i know very unsafe and stupid but after he did so for atleast two days it smelled down there. Kinda fishy but not unbearable and after 4 days it stopped. I never had a problem like that before and ive been tested. What do i do and how can i get rid of it besides waiting a couple of days. thank you

Yes it can smell like that after sex if he ejaculates inside of you. The only way to stop that is to not let it happen. That should be the least of your problems anyway. It sounds like you had unprotected sex, and you should be more concerned about getting pregnant than what you smell like down there afterwards.

Just my 2c.

If you're on birth control, then condoms aren't really necessary, unless you're concerned about STD's which I guess you're not.

It's natural to have an odor....his semen mixed with your lubrication will have an odor, but I've never had it last after I take a shower.

Ok thank you for writing back. I am on birth control and i should be worried about stds no matter what i know that. But i dont understand why it takes so long to not smell. as soon as were done i will go to the bathroom and rinse it out, haha i know this sounds graphic but how far should i go when im cleaning, maybe im doing that wrong. Im a very clean person and that is why im concerned. I appreciate you writing back.

I'm not sure what you mean by "rinse it out". All you can wash is the surface, and immediately after sex, it hasn't all come out of you yet. If you're going to bed, lying down, it will take a while to come out, and in the morning, there will be more there. Then when you get up, and are upright, maybe even more will come out.

Every human being has different odors, and his might just be "stronger" than most. There's not much you can do but continue washing until the odor is gone.

Right after having sex... go to the bathroom, sit on the sink w/ one of your legs up on the counter and really REACH IN there and wash it out... as if you were fingering yourself ... that will take care of the problem.
hehe sorry for being so graphic :-)

never had any problems with the mood being ruined if i went to the bathroom to wash myself off. Besides, it's sanitary that you do wash yourself off right after sex to avoid UTI.
I am prone to UTI inferctions, so that's why i have to run in there and clean myself. Also... i don't like that fishy smell either.

The presence of semen temporarily changes the PH level of the vagina which can result in a strong, sometimes unpleasant odor.

I typically keep wet wipes that I use instead of toilet paper when I go to empty my bladder after intercourse. They are lightly scented, they're moist and they do a better job of getting rid of the odor that can develop.

But normally, for me, just taking a bath sometime after takes care of any lingering odor from semen.
