This is a really ridiculous question, but I honestly want to know the answer. Could I be arrested for walking down the street in a bikini? Would that be, like, indecent exposure? I've always wondered that. (Don't worry, I wasn't planning on doing it! *hehe*)

I'm sure it depends on where you are, and what the laws are. It seems like they do it in "beach" areas, like California and Florida with no problems. It may not go over as well in other areas. Ask a policeman, I'm sure they know.

You could be arrested for "disturbing the peace" instead of indecent exposure. LOL! In some states, like Colorado, you can actually go into a store wearing only pasties on top and that's considered covered. But when we were in Hawaii last Spring, it was a no-no to be in a bikini anywhere but the beach without a coverup of some kind. So, surprisingly, even being in a beach town (state) doesn't mean that anything goes.

You wouldn't think so but if they can ban the sales of sex toys I am sure there is some backwards ass place that would find this an unlawful act.

Well, not here in Southern California and definitel not here in Malibu! LOL. The question around these parts is do you think I can get away going topless on the beach??? Lots of girls go topless on our beach during the week (the weekends, no). Too many people.

Oooh! How nice that must be! The U.S. is very strict about going topless or nude on our beaches here. We probably just have more deviates here, lol. (Don't know if I spelled that right). R has promised to take me to Europe within the next couple of years and I very much want to see the south of France - not only for it's beauty, but for the topless beaches as well. I'd much rather go to Europe (or Australia) to be topless on a beach, then one of those "naked retreats/resorts" that are advertised. Just be natural and nude, without the horny dudes gawking.

We've been down to Mexico at some gorgeous beaches and they were very lax about being topless - but there were a lot of lookers.

No, it's because we have lots and lots more prudes than in civilized countries.

Good gracious, there are nude and/or topless beaches in the US!!! My old boss went to one in FL, and my cousin stumbled across one unknowingly in CA during a coastline hike. She said the most hysterical thing she ever saw were the naked peeps playing volleyball.

A common perception about the US is that Americans are hilariously/scarily lacking in perspective about how they actually compare to the rest of the world. THis applies to sex as well. I know many who poke fun at the US for being the most sex obsessed culture in the world, but also being among the most prudish western nations. THe result is the worst of both worlds: a lack of freedom and tolerance combined with lots of media objectification and exploitation. THats just my impression.
