"Why is it that this forum is mostly made up of regular posters who's opinions are off the center line in some areas as indicated in polls?"

It's always difficult to paint with a wide brush, and we do have some members who visit us because they want to like sex more, or they don't understand why they don't like sex more; but for the most part, the members here have already figured out that they like sex (which is an understatement).

They've figured out that it's not about size, competition, or polls ... but about embracing their own sexuality and enjoying it to its' fullest.

But, but, everyone is programmed to like sex. It's embedded in our DNA

This was more of a 'from the outside looking in' type post rather than a joining in one. It's something that every once in a long while I've thought about a bit, so I decided to post about it.

But not everyone likes sex to the same degree. Some people have a great deal of interest in it, while others... less so, for a variety of reasons (cultural, religious, hormonal, depression, stress in other aspects of life). The regulars who post on these boards are more likely to be from the upper end of that distribution, so our mean is higher than the mean of the population at large.

Isn't that a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Despite my size fetish

Hi Been There....

You don't seem to like me much sakura. I'm really a nice guy. Really I am. Really. :)

I think you are a nice guy.

I also think you should not put so much credence in polling and actually "TALK" to people here and discover for yourself what they think. This board is one of the most diverse in taste and thought process I have come across...precisely the reason I post here as often as I do.

No, you are confounding your personal expectations which are beyond the ken of just about everyone here, and the nature of a public internet message board, which has the scope and mandate to try and help people of a variety of backgrounds who seek help or answers to their problems and conundrums, or elaborate upon and seek to derive satisfaction from their personal interests. I do not thing that you get the sense of what this board, or other boards, are about. That is the first point.

Second point, the polls posted on any message boards are not valid beyond a point of interest, since they are not controlled. If I am not signed in, I can still vote in any given poll, day after day, and add my inconsiderate vote to the total. This skews the results. The results have no validity apart from being generally interesting. They are not scientifically regulated. So, forget the polls, apart from them being amusing, informative or entertaining. They are not used for anything more, and rightly so.

As for your response to Sakura about how she feels when the JW's knock at her door, well, speaking for myself, I am just as annoyed at them as I am at door to door sales persons (yes, those still exist, and the modern day extension, the telephone sales people are in the same category) who are a nuisance that I must deal with, unasked for. Whether someone is pushing his or her religion, phone deal, book sales or whatever, when the knock comes unbidden to my door, it is unwelcome. Perhaps JWs are just a more prevalent and obvious example, which is why Ms. Sakura - a respectable and dignified woman, if ever there was one - cited them. I cannot speak for her, but I seriously doubt her intention was to open this up to the discussion of religious proselytising. Rather, it was an example of the misguided nature of many unsolicited discussions, to say nothing of the way in which things can go veering off topic.

As for your contention about this being Let's Talk About Sex, and yet you are out of sorts with the path it takes, have you checked out Taboos? There, the subject matter remains things of a sexual nature, but the scope is redifined, in comparison to this and many other boards. Hopefully, you will find the boards that fulfill your needs and expectations, rather than try and force the boards to conform to what it is you wish.

I do hope you take my considered words in the manner in which they are intended - to help you out, to see your way clearly, and to find the sexual satisfaction you seem to be seeking. All the best to you.
