lost virginity--what is normal?

So last night my boyfriend and I lost our virginities to eachother. He said it hurt him a little bit going in. Is that normal? Also, it didn't really hurt for me except for when he went in a little deeper and hit what felt like the back of my vagina...is that normal?

Normally, he won't feel any pain when entering you. My thinking is that both of you were probably nervous, and not as well lubricated as you would normally be. During foreplay, your vagina will lubricate itself as you become aroused. Most guys will get pre-ejaculate leaking out during the arousal process too.

If you're dry, or using condoms that are not pre-lubricated, you can add an artificial lubricant. Water-based lubricants are safe to use with condoms, and are usually non-irritating. If using other types of lube, you would want to read the label to make sure they are suitable for your uses.

As far as him hitting what felt like the back of your vagina, it was probably your cervix. In certain positions, or if he is well endowed, this can happen. Some people like it, some people hate it. It can be (or become) painful, so if you don't enjoy it, try some different positions, or ask him to control his thrusting a bit better.

I think the two of you need to give it a few more shots before making any changes. Make sure you're both properly aroused with lots of foreplay, and try using different positions. For many couples, the first few times are a bit tense. Add both of you being virgins to that, and it's even more probable.

Feel free to keep asking questions, and good luck with experimenting. Be sure to be patient with each other, and enjoy this new experience.

Honey, there's no such thing as "normal" in sex, including first time sex.

I'll add this...

1) I've had a little pain (more like a pinch) before when DW is too dry. So the answer to your concerns is indeed better lubrication.

That can occur through lots of ways - more touching - more oral - or just flat out a tube of lube. (PS: You usually don't need a lot out of the tube. Too much lube and the sex may feel more like a wet noodle.)

2) YES IT GETS BETTER!!!

(just make sure you're safe about things!)
