I have received several e-mails from members recently regarding being sent unwelcome e-mail from other iVillage members. I'm sad to see this happening in an environment where we expect to be safe.
Please note that e-mail received via your iVillage profile is held to the same Terms of Service standards and Rules of Play as are the message boards. If you feel that you have received an e-mail that is in violation of iVillage policies, please forward a copy to relationshipscm@mail.ivillage.com.
If you would prefer to not receive e-mails directly from members, you may opt out of that feature via your profile. Simply go to your profile preferences, scroll to the bottom of the page, and de-select yes for "Member to Member Email".
Violating iVillage policies does put an account in jeopardy. Please remember that a member does not have your actual e-mail address until you respond to his/her message. If you have set up your iConnect profile, you may wish to conduct your member-to-member e-mails there. Those are covered by the iVillage TOS as well; however, the member will not have access to your personal e-mail address should you choose to respond to him/her.
