So i had my period the weekend before Halloween, it's always regular, never have problems with it. On Halloween night I had sex. Hadnt had sex in 7 months. Everything was fine, then i had sex again wed night-was a bit rough maybe. On sat I noticed I was bleeding again...not sure why since i'd just had my period. I had sex again sun. morning and by that day i was bleeding pretty bad. I still continued to have sex (safely) mon and tues. My bf doesnt care...the thing is that it is really very bloody. I really dont mean to be gross, but i'm not sure what's going on> i go to the bathroom and the toilet water turns red. I dont know if having sex threw my cycle off? I'm not in any pain whatsoever, it just really seems like i have my period again (a little more bleeding though) It's actually quite annoying and i'm wondering when this will stop. I'm guess that my body wasnt used to having sex and maybe something was triggered? I'm just not sure what...ugh. When will this stop?

Sex shouldn't bring on a period in-between your regular period.

well it just seems odd that this has only suddenly happened after not having sex for a while. I noticed that it does say it can be caused by intercourse in one of the links you posted.

yeah it's just frustrating...i had a pap appt in aug and i was fine...i got all checked out for everything. I feel like this has happened to me before when i've had long periods of no sex...i end up bleeding lightly, this time it's heavy though. I am supposed to go to the gyn again in december...i just imagine it will be one of those things that they dont know about seeing how nothing odd came up in august.

How nice that your b/f doesn't care! It's not his body! The sex should stop completely till you figure out what's going on. You've been bleeding heavily for well over a week, and that's not "normal", particularly since it's not time for your period.

What your doctor did or didn't find in August has nothing to do with this! You need to call your doctors office, and explain to them what's going on....and get in to see the Doctor as soon as possible.

You say when you urinate the water is red......are you sure the blood is coming from your vagina? If the water is red when you urinate, it could very well be an UTI....and if so, it needs to be taken care of ASAP also before your kidneys are affected!

Some people may bleed after intercourse....but NOT like that, and not for that long.

well i was tested for cervical cancer in aug because i had an abnormal pap and i didnt have it...i will call the dr, it's just frustrating because my mom's friend is a nurse there and she's the one who answered the phone so i hung up. I'm pissed! I feel like it's always something...there is no pain. It really just seems like i have my period again.

My boyfriend did actually say last night that i should go to the dr. he didnt think much of it in the beginning because i didnt really make an issue of it. I just figured my body wasnt used to sex and reacted this way...

well i just spoke to my dr and explained the situation. She didnt seem the least bit concerned...she just asked if there was any pain/fever associated with the bleeding, i said no. SHe said it sounds like my period had started up again and that could happen, sometimes people's periods can become irregular. She did suggest i do a preg test which freaked me out. She said it was unlikely i was pregnant if i'd used condoms but i should just check to be safe...urgh. I asked about stds since i saw bleeding was a sign of chlamydia. She checked my chart and said i had just been checked over the summer and was fine so it shouldnt be that, esp since i was using condoms. She told i could come in if i wanted, but i'd have to see someone else since she was booked, otherwise she said she'd see me december 8th (i had an appt scheduled for then anyways) I asked if she thought i had a tumor, she said no. She basically said she was comfortable with seeing me on dec 8th.

Listen to your doctor, and relax! Don't let your imagination run wild! Most of the things you are worried about are things that wouldn't cause bleeding like this. Whatever it is, you're going in to the doctor in a month, and no matter what it is, one month isn't going to make any difference.

One thing I would advise is to hold off on the sex to see if the bleeding stops, and in case it doesn't stop, and it continues to be heavy, check back with the doctor again before your appointment. The cause is probably nothing serious, but a month of heavy bleeding COULD become serious.

Just try to relax. Our bodies can do strange things, and they usually mean nothing at all, but the correct thing to do is check and find out for sure.
