need advice on pain issue

I recently started seeing a guy (both in our 20s). We had sex once with no problems, but the second time we were having sex, he said he couldn't finish due to pain (got kicked in the groin during a fight he was intercepting). I didn't think that much of it, he said it happened the night before. He didn't have any trouble getting/keeping an erection. However, we attempted to have sex again for the third time the other night and he couldn't finish again, still due to pain, he said. It lasted a lot longer this time (the first time we stopped after a minute or so) but is this normal? He's very involved in contact type sports so could have reinjured it I guess. I'm developing a complex! What should I do?

Pain is not normal and if he got kicked, still having pain, he should get checked out by a doctor.

From the male point of view, I will echo Tish's advice with even stronger emphasis. It may be nothing more than deep bruising that is aggrivated by engorgement during arousal but it may also signal more serious damage to delicate tissues which could cause long term problems. He needs to see a doctor sooner rather than later!

Tish is also right on the guilt trip you seem to be heading for. There is no way any of this can be your fault.

This has nothing to do with you, and unless you're an Urologist, there's nothing you can do about it. He needs to see a doctor.

Why should you be "developing a complex" when he's already explained why he can't finish? Give the guy, and your ego, a break and believe what he says!

Any kind of injury to the genitals, his or yours, is bound to affect your performance and ability to enjoy sex....at least for awhile!

Thanks for the reassurances. I guess I should have mentioned I was concerned that the pain would last for that long (over a week) and I guess I was getting paranoid. I'll try to relax and hopefully all will be in working order the next time I see him ;)

He probably has a moderate to severe bruise but if he's still complaining, he needs to see his dr.
