If drinking helps then it sounds like inhibitions kicking in. Happens to alot of women when they start having kids.
are you taking care of yourself? Eating well, sleeping enough, making sure you have "me time"?
Welcome to the board, Cynthia. Often, when moms are overwhelmed, it seems they loose their sex drives. Making sure you take care of yourself, get help around the house and with the kids, and have some free time just for you will go a long way to helping you rediscover yourself. With that, your sex drive will most likely surface as well.
I lost my sex drive when my kids were younger. I had the kids, financial stresses, and I was suffering with depression. Sometimes, it's difficult to see all the factors that play into the loss when you're actually living in the middle of it. There are always things that need to be done when you're a mom, and it's very easy to let those things rule your life. Sometimes, you have to let go of things that can wait, or have other family members pitch in to help get them done.
While I agree that you shouldn't need to get drunk to want to have sex, perhaps having one or two drinks will allow you to relax enough to let go of some of your responsibilities. Try to make a schedule for yourself that gives you time to do those things -- and also gives you a quitting time each day. Once your kids are in bed, you should be off duty and able to spend time on you. During that time, it's also important to keep your relationship with hubby fresh.
There are products on the market that are supposed to help with female arousal. I believe they create a tingling sensation on your genitals, which sort of wakes them up. You can pick them up at most pharmacies, over the counter (even places like Walmart carry them). You'll find them near the lubes, condoms or feminine care products -- depending on the store.
Keep us posted on how things are going, and let us know if you try any of the products too. It's always great to have a review of what works and what doesn't.
