It's a combination of your lubrication, his ejaculate, and the bacteria on the surface of your skin and tissues. It's normal, although for some people it's "stronger" smelling than other people.

Summer's Eve, and all those products with their chemicals and perfumes are a waste of your money, and can actually promote infections in some cases. If you're talking about the surface sprays, they're just a waste. If you're talking about the douche, DON'T. Your vagina is "self cleaning" (unless you have an infection) and douching removes the "good" bacteria that keeps your vagina infection free. Never douche unless instructed to do so by a doctor. Soap and water is all you need to keep yourself clean.

Hi Emily,

It's normal to have odor after sex, and the more sex you have (between baths) the more odor their will be. It's a combination of both of your body fluids; saliva, semen, sweat, vaginal lubrication, etc. The sprays will simply "mask" any odor that is there, and each spray will react different for different people (as the odors are not always the same).

Once you shower (or bath) the odor should go away with just soap and water. There are some newer feminine wipes on the market that you can use in between if you choose. They are sort of like baby wipes, but are sold with the feminine products. They should only be used on the outside of your body, so keep that in mind also.
