Online Dating - How Soon Do I "Put Out"

I'm in my 30s. I've been out of the dating scene for a long time. Prior to this I had a couple of long term relationships with men I had known through friends or school and one short relatiohnship with a male friend.

I met a guy online. I will be going on the second date this weekend. I've never dated someone I did not know previously.

What is the accepted time frame? When am I expected to have sex? Third date? Fifth date?

You're probably expected to put out on the first date.

I'm probably rehasing what everything else has said, but if a man "expects" you to put out at a certain point in time, he's NOT worth your time. You sleep with him when it's right for both of you.

I have done the online dating thing- there is no rule about when to have sex;however, I think waiting is better than having sex too early in the relationship. It is important to feel confortable, to have good communication, and to be on the same page (ie if you are still seeing other people or not). Go with your instincts!

When I read your post, I got chills down my spine. I used to work for AOL in the Community Action Team. In that job, I had to wade through every inch of the seedy underbelly of the internet. Talk about warping your outlook . . .

I'm sure everyone has told you to be careful and all that, so I'm not going to rehash it. I just wanted to jump in here with my 2 cents. :)
