Sandi, I'll be waiting for my invitation to the hot tub party once I hear you hit the lottery! (Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you!)
I would love to have a hot tub that is hot all the time. When we vacation in the Outer Banks, the house we stay at has one, and a pool. It's great to go back and forth.
That's the kind of spa I wanted, but DH complained because everyone we know with that type has a lot of maintenance issues. Our spa is part of our pool, so it runs on all the same equipment. The down side is that it's not hot all the time -- we have to heat it for use. Now, we can use that same heater for our pool, but there's no way we could ever afford the gas for that! At any rate, we do the opposite here .... get heated up in the spa and then jump into the cold, refreshing water. I'm a wimp and only do it in the Summer, LOL.
When we lived in Maryland, a lot of people had pools that were 18x36 in their backyards. Here, that size seems like a community pool. I was shocked to see that the pools here are really small in general. Ours is 15x30, and everyone (local) who see's it thinks it's huge, LOL. It's 6' deep at the deep end -- they won't make them deeper here. They also won't install diving boards because of insurance issues. I guess they were getting sued if people got hurt on them.
lol.. Your lottery remark made me laugh... I'm still playing and trying to win. I did hit for $4 the other night, but I didn't think that would get me far, so I bought four more tickets.. Wish me luck!
Hi Julia. Nice to meet you. You're living in Boston? I grew up in Watertown. Where are you going to school and what are you studying? If you don't mind me asking.
I posted my best wishes to you on another board. Not surprised to hear you had to work.BTW-Yesterday in court I told someone that my DW is the one in our family who has a useful job. The response was "Is she a nurse?"
speaking of lotterie's the most I ever won..actually..correction, I bought one of those scratch and wins and gave it to my Dad, he scratched it and won 100 dollars..lol. Me I won a big 10 bucks. I am hoping to one day win that ever elusive million dollars..lol

Thanks!
I'm living in the States right now, so no holiday here. But since I'm a grad student, holidays are merely suggestions, and time is quite flexible.
Luv,
J.
