is there ever a way to tell if you are ovulating?
i know that it is "supposed" to happen, about 7 days after your period, right between the follicular and luteal stages. & i have heard it happens in a "moment"
so is that the only time you can get pregnant?

There is something out there that is supposed to tell you when you're ovulating, if you WANT to get pregnant, and there's also the "temperature" system. But, that's in a perfect world. You definitely can't tell by counting days, because you could be ovulating 2-3 days in a row, or a day late, or a day early. Even "regular" women can vary by a few days. Some women have been known to get pregnant during their periods, and that's NOT when "normal" women (in a "normal" cycle) ovulate, but it happens.
Again, if you don't want to get pregnant, you have to use birth control, simple as that.
There are natural methods for predicting when you are fertile and when you are not fertile. They are not easy, and they do require some effort, but they are effective (if you follow the rules).
