I'll just add a little more to what the others have said:
It's a clear, colourless, thin, slippery fluid with basically no taste or odour that can 'leak' from the tip of a man's penis as he becomes aroused and erect. Some guys have basically none, some can produce quite a bit. The theory goes that it is produced as a lubricant to help penetration and as a way to neutralise the PH balance (the acidity value) in the penis before the semen is ejeculated because the semen can be killed by the wrong ph balance. Because it is produced in the same area that semen is, it can potentially have a few of the little swimmers in it so you can get pregnant from it.
I'm assuming that you know that it quite different from semen which is ejeculated, usually, forcefully at the time of orgasm. Semen is usually about 1-2tsps of thickish sticky fluid, whitish in colour. If the man has ejeculated recently it can be thinner and with less colour.
I've read on a few websites that there is no sperm in pre-cum, except on the occasion that the guy had ejaculated earlier, and there was still sperm left from that ejaculation. Otherwise what I've read says that pre-cum carries no sperm, but it does carry std's so protection of course still should be used. But then everyone here says that you can get pregnant from it..so why are other places saying it contains none, but everyone here says it does? I guess I'm just confused as to whether or not it does...
Ask a single mother who's b/f "pulled out in time"! That's one of the worst "methods" of birth control, because you can get pregnant that way.
As far as reading it on the "internet"......you're in big trouble if you believe EVERYTHING that you read there.....as well as in books, magazines and newspapers. Just because it's in print doesn't make it a fact.
>>But then everyone here says that you can get pregnant from it..so why are other places saying it contains none, but everyone here says it does?<<
Pre-cum doesn't contain sperm itself, but it can 'pick' up any traces left in the urethra. That means that it can have a few sperm in it and that's a big enough risk to take I think. Of course the odds of getting pregnant from it are probably much lower than having a guy ejeculate in you, but there is a risk. Best to be safe, don't you think?
It's a bit like playing with a gun. Even if you think that it is empty, it's probably safest to NOT point it at your head at ANY time.
Hi,
See my reply to pre-ejaculate above...and YES a woman can become pregnant from it.
Peace.
Scott.
