Pregnancy, Orgasm, and Semen

Alrighty, folks. I'm at 30w2d in the pregnancy and still enjoying sex..Which is what got me pregnant anyway..But, the question is...Can a totally rocking orgasm bring on labor? And can semen induce labor? I read somewhere that it could..So, does that mean from this point on I should avoid allowing DH leave a deposit after sex or is it ok up until the 9th month for him to do so? Can someone put these to rest for me?

Yes an orgasm can help start labor as can semen, BUT only if your body is ready to go into labor already. I don't remember the techincal terms so try your best to follow this explanation... There are receptors in your body that do not get turned on until the baby is ready to be born, so you will not go into labor until that time, no matter how many orgasms you have or umm, deposits, lol.
The only time sex is a no-no during pregnancy is if there is risks or signs of premature pregnancy, which would mean that the receptors had been turned on too early.
I had sex almost daily through my pregnancy with my son and he was still 2 days late (not bad overall, lol) and I did the same with my daughter and she was only 2 days early. So there is nothing wrong with having all the sex you want unless your doc says otherwise.
It's possible but will usually only happen if your body is
I agree. Jennie, you're currently saying that you'll be careful when you're near full term.....but I agree that in the 9th month, you'll be doing anything to bring on labour LOL
I remember having a friend do reflexology to try and bring on my labour. But just like the sex thing, it only works if you're ready to go into labour anyway.
I even did the castor oil thing (shuddering now to think of it - GROSS). I did go into labor the next day, but it also was probably just time. I *was* a week past my due date...which seems like a month at that time!
Yeah, during the last few weeks, it's not premature labor and not a big deal anyway. The only time to be careful is *if* you have a preterm labor issue and during the 2nd trimester. Even nipple stimulation can bring on contractions. Many of the Amish women around here use it as a drug-free, natural stress test, no lie (as did a few of the midwives.) Rather than use small doses of Pitocin to see how well the baby fares during labor (if they're thinking about induction or maybe having to do a section), nipple stimulation can produce small amounts of 'natural Pitocin' and they can monitor the baby during that.
But those last few weeks....bring it on baby!
Oh, the nipple thing. I forgot about trying that one too!
I had a friend who ate a load of chilli con carne before going into labour. The midwife had a real laugh about that. Apparently, it was very explosive LOL
I think the worst mess I made was having my waters break all over the midwife when I was in 2nd stage - on my hands and knees. I bet the midwives need lots of spare clothes.
Yes the nipple stimulation is a wondrous thing. We even use the nipple stimulation to alleviate DW's menstrual cramps.
But is it safe for the baby to have semen in the passage it has to come through ? If there is a doctor in the house, can they please give their opinion ?
Well, you'd have to be having sex in labor in order for that to possibly happen. And while a healthy woman can have sex right up until labor, I can't imagine any woman IN labor that wants to have sex, lmao!
Besides, once the water breaks, it would flush out anything in the vagina. And that can happen hours and hours before the baby is even close to being born. But with all the bodily fluids that a baby encounters during labor, I can't imagine a miniscule bit of semen would even matter.
