pubic shaving

I have been shaving there for years and am looking for a longer lasting method. Would like to have a smooth, razor burn and bump free finish that last for more than a day or two. Anybody ever try any over the counter waxing products? Do they work? Pain level? I know you can have a professional wax, but I believe that would be out of my budget. How do others shave? I have tried wet/dry razors, disposable razors, tried special shaving cream for pubic hair, regular shaving cream too. Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is just my opinion, but if you're going to wax go get it done professionally. I have done the at home waxes and all of them have been a waste of money. Even tried Nads. Didn't seem to matter what type of razor I used, I always got lots of bumps and ingrowns(and yes, I knew to use a fresh razor often, even tried each shave). Now what I use is an epilator. Basically, it looks kinda like an electric razor but it pulls the hair out instead of shaving. It hurt the first time(if you get one remember to trim your hair short first), but after that it's just maintenance and I would just say it's a bit uncomfortable only in sensitive areas. It stays smooth just as long as waxing. I use tweezers to get hairs in areas where I don't dare use the epilator LOL, and to get any stray hairs. I rarely get ingrowns, and the hairs that grow back are soft and fine.

I have never been successful waxing my bikini area myself either....no matter what product I used. Get it professionally done, you'll save time and money in the long run.

What about hair removal creams and stuff like that? would that work!? I'm in the same position and shaving every 2-3 days is getting annoying.

Hair removal creams should not be used on the genitals.

The epilator is the way to go.
