One of my favorite encounters in life was when ... Misty I have had many encounters that I have treasured but the first one that came to mind here was when I felt very fortunate to have met Princess Diana on an official visit to Canada. At the time she was just such a vision of beauty and I admired her for entering into such a difficult family. Shortly after she as we all know met an unfortunate death so I feel honored to have met and talked with her as well as shake her hand.
. . . I greeted a church friend with a hug at the door as he came into church.
It is a long story, but his grandson had disappeared some months before that and was being hunted by the police on suspicion of manslaughter. It was the first time he had had the courage to show his face in church since then. I was so glad to see him there that I gave him a warm hug. He broke down and cried and has told me many many times since how much that welcoming hug meant to him.
