It's not normal to have pain after intercourse.
It's not really bad as such. It can just be very uncomfortable and even painful. You've probably chaffed something or gotten some tiny, tiny little tears in your vagina because his penis was rubbing instead of sliding. It sounds like you'll heal up just fine over a few more days time.
It sounds like it's the normal sort of discomfort you'd have after having sex and not being lubricated enough. Get some KY liquid or something from the Supermarket or Drugstore for times when you're not lubricated (or spend more time on the foreplay).
Well, it's not a GOOD thing. Yes, it happens sometimes, but ideally, you should try and prevent it by using KY or some other lubricant.
But you have to speak up when you aren't enjoying what's happening so that you can make adjustments, too. Don't just suffer in silence.
Every time you have dry sex, it can be uncomfortable, even painful, AND you are likely opening little tears and abrasions in the vaginal tissue which can lead to other problems....like infections, ulcerations, etc.
IF you aren't wet enough to facilitate penetration, just dab on some lube OR saliva which works in a pinch.
