Red Faced Afterwards

Ok, so here's the deal with my issue. It has only happened with the guy I'm currently seeing. After we have sex, I end up getting red in the face. Not like blushing but I get red bumps all over my face. It almost looks like a rash covering my entire face. It's not so bad on my neck but it was really bad on my face the other day. The only thing that I could think of that is giving me this rash is his scruffy facial hair. But if that were the case it would be all over my neck as well. Could it be that I'm allergic to his detergent or something as well, or is this something common after sex???

I am a man, and that does sound like an allergy you have from something he is using, such as an after shave lotion. How long does the rash last? Does he have a stubbly beard? It certainly is not a common occurance, or my wife would have a rash all the time.

It's definitely NOT common. What do you mean by scruffy facial hair? Does he have a beard, or is it just that he doesn't shave often enough? Maybe it's just stubble burn....and your neck skin isn't as tender as your facial skin.....Tell him to shave before sex.

When I say scruffy facial hair, it's around his beard area that is stubbly from just the daily growth and it's kind of rough. But he does have a goatee.

This time the rash lasted about 2 days. Before when it's happened it only lasts about a day and then it's gone. It's really the worst on my forehead but not so much on my cheeks. Do you think I should have him change a few things to see if it helps or should I talk to a DR. about it?

Does it happen any other time than after sex?

If it's the day's growth, that can be like sandpaper! I'm trying to picture in my mind how it would get on your forehead, though, lol

If it goes away in a day or two, it's probably some kind of irritation. If it doesn't go away in a day or two, then you might want to have it checked by a doctor, but the diagnosis will probably be "unspecific dermatitis", unless you'd want to go thru a lot of tedious and very expensive allergy tests. Again, tell him to shave before sex, and see if that helps.

Did he recently change after shave? Or brand of soap?

This type of irritation/rash only happens after sex. If it happened any other time I would definitely go to the doctor but it's only afterwards. I don't think he's changed aftershave or soap or anything. Sometimes it last just for the day and other times it lasts a couple of days. But this time it was so bad all over my face that I had to wear heavy make up to cover it up!

Yeah it is kind of funny trying to picture how it ends up on my forehead but it does, every time. This time it was a lot worse than usual.
