I will add a little to this post as well...

If you suspect a post is from a troll, feeding the troll in any form will simply encourage the troll to keep posting. Although trolls can be entertaining, ignoring trolls is the best option for having them move on.

forum+troll

From the Urban Dictionary - "Someone who gets pleasure by typing annoying/controversial/of fensive words at strangers on internet forums, for them to read."

You can click on the link in Nenu's post (response 4 here) and see many examples of a forum troll. Here's another definition for troll from the Urban Dictionary:

"One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument"

*"One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument"*

Looks around innocently, and asks Misty, *would we ever have experienced that here on the message boards?* lol
