Is sex getting boring?

I have a question for everyone and I accept all opinions. My significant other and I have been married for going on 40yrs. For the past year sex has become boring. Is having sex with the same person for all those years finally taken its toll? I am in good shape, and feel sexual all the time, but my spouse really does not get into it. In order to please myself, I find myself masturbating more often, and fantasizing about different things that would be fun to do or try. I have even gone so far as to think about what it would be like if we were to swap partners,or even have same room sex with another couple

I'm not sure if you're a man or a woman, but either way.......it's time to start talking to each other!

I have no idea why my mind read the original poster as male, especially when it seems like great lengths were taken to mask the gender.

Thanks to those who replied and your thoughts and suggestions have been taken seriously. At this point it is not important what gender is speaking here, as for filling out more information about me maybe later. Thanks again to all who have replied.

Welcome to the board, littleb2006. I was going to assume you were a man because you posted elsewhere on the board about watching FE ... but here you mention "your SO". Typically, married people refer to their "spouses" or DW (wife)/DH (husband).

I think the other members asked some great questions in their replies to you. I've been with my DH for 17+ years, and it's not boring -- as a matter of fact, it's more exciting than ever!

Maybe if you answer some of the other questions, it would allow us to respond with something more helpful. Sorry, but at least let us know your sex and your spouses sex.

Thanks.

"At this point it is not important what gender is speaking here, as for filling out more information about me maybe later."

It's up to you whether or not you fill in your profile. Some members do like to read them, and in answering questions, sometimes it can be helpful to know a little more about you.

It DOES make a difference what gender you are and what gender your SO is when answering your question. Especially if health issues are contributing factors -- there are different things that affect men than those that affect women.

We're a pretty open bunch here.

Just a note, we are a very non judgemental group here and even if your SO is the same gender (not saying it IS but if it was, that would not really matter) but knowing we might be able to give you
