Sex Without A Condome

I recently had sex with my bf without a condom for the first time. He didn't cum inside me but I'm still worried? I know it maybe a strange question to ask but could I get pregnant?

If you're not on birth control, YES, you should be worried. If you were ovulating, just a drop or two of his pre-ejaculate can get you pregnant. It can also give you STD's.
By the time he "pulls out", it's too late. He's already deposited hundreds of sperm in your vagina.
If you ARE on birth control, then you don't ovulate, so it's ok, except for the STD part. If he's ever been with another woman without a condom, he can have any number of diseases, and you can't tell by looking. The only way to know he doesn't have any disease is by testing.
there is a possibility of pregnancy under certain circumstances. But, i do have some questions: how do you know you weren't ovulating? do you practice fertility awareness charting?
ok, now for some ideas/answers:
1. if you weren't ovulating and you weren't in your fertile phase, then there's no way for you to become pregnant. without the presence of cervical fluid to sustain the sperm, sperm die very quickly in the acidic environment of the vagina and cervix--could be as quickly as 30 minutes after introduction to the environment.
2. if you were in your fertile phase, with cervical fluid present, then the sperm can survive for as many as 5 days in the cervix. once ovulation takes place, then you can get pregnant because the sperm will head toward the egg for fertilization.
most women have a fertile phase of three or four days a month. at the beginning of the phase, you have the advent of cervical fluid that usually starts as a tacky/sticky discharge, then moves to a lotion-like discharge, then becomes an egg-white like discharge. it's usually egg-white like when you get to ovulation. If you have sex with this fluid present, even if you ovulate after the eggwhite stage (which most people do within one to three days), then you could get pregnant as the fluid preserves the sperm until ovulation.
So, if you were in your post ovulation (luteal) stage between ovulation and menstruation, then it's likely that you were infertile and there's no chance of getting pregnant. If you were in your estrogen phase between your period and the advent of cervical fluid in the cycle, then you are likely not to get pregnant. If you're before ovulation but with the presence of cervical fluid, you could get pregnant.
does that help?
i once heard that sperm can stay dormant in a woman's body for up to 2 weeks. so if, like you claim, that you are not ovulating today, you could still get pregnant in the next week (if my information is correct)
however, i'd be more concerned about std/hpv/hiv then pregnancy. there are ways around it, there are no ways around a virus
Hi,
ummmm yeah theres always a chance for pregency if no condom or birth control is used. About a year ago me and my friend had sex without a condom severel times and I wasn't on birth control...It was a huge mistake luckily I was lucky and didn't get pregent however, there are so many women out there that are not that luckily and get pregent...my advice if you chose not to use a condom get on birth control.
Amy
ok then, what if a girl is on birth control and doesnt use a condom? how careful do you have to be??
is waiting 2 weeks past her period sufficient time? and how long before her period should you stop doign it?
considering stds are out of the equation due to testing.

If she's on the "pill", and she's taking it properly....then you don't have to worry about anything at all. If it's taken properly, meaning every day at approximately the same time, and NEVER skipping or missing a pill.....then she's not ovulating....and she can't get pregnant. There's about a one or two percent failure rate on the pill, and that's usually caused by not taking the pills correctly.
If she can't take the pill the way she's supposed to, then she should find some other kind of b/c......like the shots, or the implants.
