I recently had sex with my bf without a condom for the first time. He didn't cum inside me but I'm still worried? I know it maybe a strange question to ask but could I get pregnant?

The "theory" is.......most women have a 28 day cycle. Ovulation occurs halfway between the beginning of one cycle (the first day of your period) and the beginning of the next one. That means you would ovulate on or about the 14th day.

However, not all women have 28 day cycles. Some have 30, or 35 day cycles. Some, like yourself, vary from month to month. Also, since you don't know how long it will be, you're not sure what day(s) you'll ovulate. We're all different, and all of our bodies are different. Some women have been known to get pregnant DURING their cycle! For some of us, that "egg" can hang around longer than others.

Using your dates.....IF you have a 28 day cycle, and IF you ovulate on exactly the 14th day....If your last period started on November 9th, your next one would be due on Dec. 7th, and you would ovulate on the 23rd of November. But what if it's NOT a 28 day cycle this month?

There's an ovulation test out now, for women who are TRYING to get pregnant. I don't know how accurate it is. Theoretically, you could use that same test to tell you when you need to be more "careful", but wouldn't it just be easier to get on birth control, use it properly, and not have to worry about it? Let's face it, if you have sex, then you risk pregnancy, even with condoms or birth control.

If you feel you're mature enough to be sexually active, and you don't want to get pregnant, then you need to be mature enough to take responsibility for NOT getting pregnant. It's better to be safe than sorry! It also takes a lot away from the sex itself if you're worrying whether or not you'll get pregnant this time.

See your doctor, or Planned Parenthood....and learn how to protect yourself.
