Shave or Not Down there?

Hi, This is my first time posting a question on this board. I have read many of the topics on this board. I just want to know if men like there women to shave/trim down there, and is it completely shave, or leave some hair. I haven't had intercourse or oral, and I don't want to scare my partner by having a lot of hair down there, if he has been with women with less hair down there. He might be okay with hair down there, but I know in my head I will be self consciece about it, and it might ruin the experience, which I don't want. So what is the norm?
Thanks

Do you all see the paranoia out there from some who are die-hard shavers about pubic hair? In many instances I see this overwhelming intolerance of pubic hair from girls who shave it all off; that its disgusting, unhealthy, not attractive, etc. I will never understand this irrational hatred for having pubic hair in my life! I understand that shaving is and should be a personal choice. However 9 times out of ten it will be someone who shaves who tells those wondering if they should that yes, you absolutely should shave because it makes life worth living. Its total BS. I rarely see women/girls who have pubic hair say to someone who is wondering what to do that they should never shave and always have pubic hair because its so much better. Its like the shavers are a propaganda machine. Ahhhh!!

You know its funny issytish because i recently met a girl and when she found out that i (a guy) actually like the presence of pubic hair on a girl she was actually happy and said "its less work for the girl and i like it that way". However, until this point she had been shaving it, etc. based on perceptions that its not accepted and guys wont like it. Some guys love it!!

I would never do something to my body that I didn't want to do just to please someone whether it's about pubic hair or anything else.

>>Its like the shavers are a propaganda machine. Ahhhh!!<<

Boy did I miss something, lol. I don't see anymore "propaganda" against hair than I've already noticed it on these boards myself. Seem to be more die-hards FOR the hair than those who choose different by what I've noticed...but thats just my single view of this board I guess, lol.

For the people around this board who DO shave, it almost seems like they encourage choice more than those who don't shave and at the same time use terms as prepubescent or porn-star looking among other terms. Again, just my narrow vision maybe? LOL, too much business/management issues here at headquarters for me to fret that much over it I guess.

perhaps you've missed all those delightful posters who say "you've gotta shave or no guy will go near you". Or "it's just gross for a woman to have hair" Or "I hate seeing pubic hair showing beneath swimming costumes" or "it's so unhygenic" or all the dental floss comments.

Or the really frequent stupid comment "I hate shaving. It drives me insane, but I do it because...". Why do something you hate and then whine about it? Duh.

Many of the posters whether shave or unshaved do say it's up to you, do what you want to do.

I just wanted to add....I think that the propaganda for and against shaving is fairly even. I also believe that we tend to take most notice of the comments that rile us rather than the ones we agree with. Which is why I notice the pro-shaving propaganda and you notice the anti.

You see, I take offence at being told that I'm unhygenic. While the shaver takes offence at being told they look pre-pubescant or porn starish. In my mind, I'm not unhygenic. And in your mind, you don't try to look like a porn star.

I must also make a comment about the porn star thing. My ex husband wanted me to shave so that I'd look like the porn star models that he found so attractive. How can I not relate the two together now? Likewise, the person that hates dental floss may have received an equally unkind comment in the past and is now paranoid about it. Remember that (right or wrong) there is history behind people's comments and perceptions.

You're right about this, aisha. But "unhygenic" is very mild. Usually it's "dirty", "gross", unkempt", etc. I happen to be a male who only shaves his face ( and I had a beard for over 20 years) and I don't think I'm any of those things.

And , as you said, some people would consider "looking like a porn star" to be a positive thing. I assume that's part of how this trend got started.

It may be somewhat even on this board, but the contributors here tend to be mature and in relationships. Go over to AskMen.com and you'll see the opinions are overwhelmingly pro-shaving ( among men and women). Most men seem to want completely shaved, quite a few like a small strip or patch, only maybe one in ten prefers unshaved and most of those like trimmed.
