Hi tmonkey!

Here's a copy of what I posted earlier. These tips have not let me down and is usually the saviour of so many others regarding shaving issues too. Only thing I'd add is to shave using nice smooth slow strokes. Smooth slow strokes. I had to repeat that due to the number of reports about those who go a little too fast/rough. Hope this helps.

**********************************************************

1) DO NOT use electric shavers down there. You've been warned!

2) Once you do start and get comfortable with it, try to keep up with it at least every 2-3 days. This helps keep the micro hairs from becoming too thick again and helps prevent ingrowing.

3) I used the same type of shaving gel that I use when shaving my face. Seemed to help me anyway. I've read that many women use the same stuff thats used for legs too.

4) PLEASE make sure your razor is as sharp as new if you can help it. You want to cut, not pull. Ouch!

5) The bumpies and itchies everyone complains about are COMPLETELY non-existant when I shave because I brave the techinque of doing so with cool to actually cold water. Again, this isn't for just rinsing afterwards, but for prepping as well. Won't go into the scientific/physiological detail of why/how it works...but it DOES work and many across the internet absolutely swear by it. In fact, the number of times that I've actually knicked myself, the cold water rinsing stopped the bleeding cold (pun or not, its true). I usually start with lukewarm to cool so I prepare for the pain of the cool to cold as I finish. Yep, I only shave while showering.

6) Good products all around for sure. Midas Touch 8000 helped me a lot too. You've GOT to look that one up...self explanatory.

MANY sources on this subject across the internet, so keep using your search engine on pubic shaving. Good luck.

I use an electric shaver 2-3x a week (i'd do it more often if I was having sex more often, lol or if I had the time).

I use a razor every once in a while, when I've let it go too long or something. Just use a lot of soap and its very smooth.

Unlike legs, shave WITH the hair, not against it.

I also put on baby powder BEFORE I use the electric shaver.

I never itch. Never hurt. No rashes. No bumps.

NOTE: These tips are for upkeep and maintenance. Not for the initial shave.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

I have to disagree with <<1) DO NOT use electric shavers down there. You've been warned! >>. I use one all the time with no mishaps.

Of course, I didn't use one the FIRST time I shaved. I trimmed it down with scissors and off with a razor. But for everyday upkeep and maintenance the electric shaver works MUCH better, imo.

Yep, I can agree with that to a point, but only for your specific body and situation.

Only problem is that there's less control with the individual blades with electric compared to the control of non-electric. As always, it'll be different with who can and cannot use electric for whatever reasons, but regular shaving is always more predictable.

BTW, I've tried electric thrice and will never go back, so I'm not exactly speaking from inexperience myself, LOL. ;)

I usually shave every other day with Dove soap and a sensitive skin razor (preferrably Bic) in the shower.

It sounds as if Mr. Para must have had a bit of a mishap with an electric shaver.
