It could be that you are putting too much direct pressure on your clitoris, which can make it feel numb. It's also possible that your head isn't in the right place, especially since you're having the same problem with vibrators. Try experimenting with it and make sure you use lube (with a vibrator), and think of a good fantasy or sexy event that you have enjoyed in the past. In the shower, you can use soap, shampoo, hair conditioner or silicone lube too.

I have the same problem with the 'numb' feeling - I'm forever turning up my vibrator to maintain the sensitivity. I actually tend to have more success if I keep my underwear/pyjama bottoms on whilst I am using it.
