A woman does't taste sour.....unless she's got an infection, or hasn't bathed in a long time. If a man loves oral sex, he loves the taste and scent of a woman. That scent contains pheremones, which are a sexual attractant.

What you eat or drink has nothing to do with your vaginal lubrication. Everything you drink goes thru your kidneys and out the bladder, and whatever you eat goes thru your intestines and out the rectum.

Be healthy, and be clean, that's all you need to "taste" good.

I agree Green. Can you imagine if we tasted like everything we ate? We'd be eating all of our SO's favorites, not ours? ;-) I think living and eating healthy, drinking plenty of water and keeping clean is the best advice.

I've noticed a slightly sour taste on me occasionally and think it has to do with my cycle. Hormones really tweak your body chemistry. Try to pay attention and see if it varies throughout the month. If that's the case there's really nothing you can do about it. If you feel so self conscious, why don't you just take a shower right before sex?

I also disagree with the others about the food issue, not that certain foods can make it better, but that certain foods can make it worse. For instance I don't like guys to go down on me if I've eaten a lot of asparagus. Also garlic tends to come out of all your pores, so if you eat a bunch make sure he does too so it's not an issue.

Hormones affect my taste, as well as my DH's, for sure. But we eat asparagus all the time and never notice a stronger smell to our urine nor our sexual juices.

I think so much depends on one's particular system and how alkaline or acidic it is, naturally, as to how certain foods will affect the taste and smell of the body, if at all.

Different foods/drinks will affect different people in different ways.

Telling you what does or doesn't work for any of us probably won't answer your question as well as you can through experimentation.

As you've probably already read across the internet, some couples notice differences when cutting down on broccoli, red meats, alcohol or asparagus, while others notice no differences at all. Some even report differences in increasing pears, apples and lots more water.

Web searches on this topic provide quite a bit of info.

I agree with you on the hormone levels making a difference, and also on the garlic. THAT stuff seems to "ooze" out of every pore if a person eats enough of it. And as you said, make sure your partner eats something with garlic at the same time you do, no problem.

As for the asparagus, that "odor" is coming from urine, not from vaginal fluids. And, it happens about 15 minutes or a half hour after eating the asparagus, and then it's gone. I love asparagus, and years ago, I had to check out that weird odor which I thought was only me, but turns out to happen to almost everyone. I couldn't remember the chemical compound, so I did a search. Here's a discovery channel explanation of it, which I think is pretty funny: http://www.discovery.com/area/skinnyon/skinnyon97_0115/skinny1.html

This is also proof of how fast things pass thru your kidneys and urinary tract, and are gone from your body. This is what happens to anything "sweet" that you drink....in, and out, and no stops anywhere near your vagina.

I personally don't believe that there is any food that will change the way that you taste. In 26 years, my DH's has never had a "flavor" and the man eats raw garlic and loves pineapples. (I remember after reading that they have an effect semen, buying several and serving them to him for two days. ;-)). His taste has always been the same. He's a big water drinker, so I attribute that to his mild flavor. Funny thing though, is his pre-cum is as sweet as they come(pun intended). Go figure! I also drink lots of water, and he's told me that I have a sweet to mildly salty taste, depending on the time of month. I think that the best thing is to make sure you're infection free(could have just a mild one), and then drink lots of water and see if that helps. Eating fruits and veggies have a higher water content than other foods, and would make sense that it would dilute any bodily secretions.

I've read articles here on ivillage that say that if you eat a lot of garlicly foods and stuff, it can cause you to taste a bit unpleasant down there. I don't remember where I was on here when I read them because I've gone and read so many, but look around here.
