Testosterone Boost (from Intercourse)

I have a serious question for any professional medical specialists (Gynecologists, HRT Specialists etc)

To my knowledge, there has only been one poster claiming to be a gynecologist on this board but most are simply laypeople interested in discussing sex.
I have never seen any study or information claiming that merely having semen in the vagina or any other orifice will enhance libido or raise the testosterone level in women.
Since the creams and lotions you mentioned have to be given time to absorb, it's not likely that semen would have the same affect anyway, since it begins dripping out almost immediately.
There are also potentially serious side effects from these creams because of the concentrated dosages so they must be closely monitored by the prescribing physicians.
Nothing I've read about the hormonal cream supplements indicate that they are effective for all women either. Interesting theory though.
I had this discussion with my doctor (an internist and female). She said there was no testosterone in sperm. My wife and I are older and take DHEA (under the supervison of our doctor) to give a slight hormone boost. Do not take it upon yourself to self medicate. Too much can cause serious problems in both males and females. We have blood work twice a year to monitor the levels in the blood stream. Like many medications, you wonder about the placebo effect. We both feel that it is working. We will be going off of DHEA this spring and will have blood work in the fall to see what the levels are.
Hope this helps

All women of all ages naturally have testosterone in their systems. Fortunately, they also have estrogen, which will "block" the testosterone......otherwise women would just be men with different genitals. At menopause, the estrogen levels drop, allowing the testosterone to come to the forefront......which is why many menopausal women start losing the hair on their heads, and growing on their faces and other places they don't want it. If a menopausal woman needs HRT, it will be estrogen, NOT testosterone.
Are you sure you're not thinking of Dopamine.....which is produced by pleasure (strangely enough it's also produced by pain), and after sex both male and female dopamine levels are up for a certain length of time. Which is really funny, if you think of the age old excuse....."not tonight, I have a headache". It's been proven that dopamine is an analgesic, and will CURE headaches, lol
