Time of month sex.

I was reading on another bored but not a board about sex, that you could have sex while it is the time of the month. I never knew that I always thought you couldn't do that. Does anybody know about this? If you can, how do you go about doing that, I'm feel like a deer in headlights right about now and I wish I had answers. because I was under the impression that it couldn't be done. If so I would like to try it because that seems to be the time I want it more for some reason I don't understand. If anybody knows anything your wisdom would be greatly apprieciated right about now.

Thanks,
Lost.

Of course it can be done! Why would you think not? Of course, if you're bleeding, it can get messy, and a lot of people just don't LIKE to do it then, but if the mess doesn't bother you and your partner, go right ahead!

If you're thinking about unprotected sex, and the possibility of getting pregnant, you CAN get pregnant at any time during your cycle.....so there is NO safe time to avoid pregnancy, including during your period.

Just to add to the previous post, even if it seems messy, there are ways to reduce the mess...one favorite for many is sex in the shower. Also I have a bunch of dark towels handy for just the purpose of sex during that time of the month. For awhile I had to use a diaphram for BC (now have IUD) but I kept it and it works great to use during that time of the month! If you and your partner are up for it, go for it!

Yes you can have sex during your period, no reason why you can't.

Thanks for the info. This is kinda embarassing not knowing exactly, now I know what a diphram is used for but never really knew exactly what it does. Do you get them from the doc? I've always just used condoms as a form of bc. when that is used then does the man not have to use a condom. Sorry for all the questions I guess I've been living in the dark all my life about all this.

No problem! This is a great place to ask questions! A diaphram is a great form of BC BUT, and a HUGE BUT, is that it serves NO protection for STDs. Unless you are in a monogomous relationship and absolutly know of no disease in yourself or your partner, then you should use a condom. I just suggested a diaghram as a way to keep yourself cleaner during that time of the month and you do need to go to your GYN to get fit properly. I know other women have used a product called Instead menstral cups (you can GOOGLE that for more info).

According to Sue Johanson (Talk Sex With Sue TV show and www.Talksexwithsue.com), women do not bleed when taking a bath or having sex. She said our bodies are amazing the way that this happens (or doesn't happen) and gave no further medical reasoning but I think she is a pretty reliable source being a Sexual Educator and Counselor, as well as a Registered Nurse. I didn't know this, but I don't like to have sex when on my period, I just feel yucky in general and I don't take baths I shower. I just thought I'd pass this along for anyone else who may find it interesting.

I use the 'Instead Soft Cups' during that time of the month all the time and if inserted correctly they are wonderful, cleaner and you can wear it longer than you can with a tampon or pad and the smell of you menstrating does not exist, I have never used them during sex and can't see doing it through that time of the month, I think when you are menstrating it is your bodies time to clean itself. I would imagine if it works for mentration it could be used during sex.
