Upset & drinking (never a good idea) I was at this club where I did go sometimes, but it was one of those clubs that has country on 1 side, and dance mix on the other. I was never really into chicken kicken, but that night the slower tempo just felt better. One of the guys sitting at a nearby table, I was at the bar, started flirting with me. I had drunk quite a bit and was in that rebound kinda mood. We ended up at a hotel not far from the club. I woke up the next morning hearing someone in the shower, I could faintly remember the night before, so I left. About a year later I moved. It was only 3 hours away, I had visited there a few times when I stilled lived at home. It had casinos, my mom and step dad liked to gamble, and in the state we lived in didn’t have them then. After I moved I got a full time day job and a part time night job, I had borrowed the money from my mom to move so I was trying to pay them back. Anyway I only had 1-1/2 hours between the 2 jobs on 3 nights of the week. I would bring my night uniform to my day job and change before I left. I stopped at this sports type bar a lot, it was on the way, and it had the best cheese burgers. I started to get to know the regulars, but there was this one guy that was always really friendly and joking around with me a lot. He looked familiar, but I never said anything for fear he would think I was using that old cheesy pickup line (do I know you). A few weeks later he ask me if I’d like to go somewhere else one night, we started dating and about a month later he told me about the morning I didn’t say goodbye. We married that following spring.
