I have recently considered having this surgery, my husband and I have been married for 20 yrs this fall. He has never said anything at all, no complaint there, but I had two large babies and it just doesn't feel like before. Does anyone know anything about it or has anyone had this done, I wonder what men think about it.

How often do you do the kegel excerices? And for how long when you do do them?

My goal was to do them a couple of times a day for at least 10 minutes (without balls). I'm not good at remembering, so I would do them when I sat to watch my afternoon soap and when I was cooking dinner at night.

But, since my sex life went haywire, I find that I don't do them on any schedule. While thinking about sex I do a little, but when having sex or masturbating they're going non-stop (LOL). Hmmmm, during January and February, I think that was about 3 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week!!!!

Things are leveling off now. I haven't noticed any difference in my muscle tone, but I do make a conscious effort to exercise when I think about it, and I do wear my ben wah balls on occasion. If I know that I will be taking a late afternoon shower, I'll often wear them for an hour or so before that time. When the balls are in, you don't have to be exercising your PC muscles the entire time, although it is a pleasant feeling.

I only have done them for about 6 months after I had my girls. Then I stopped, I guess I didn't realize that you could get results after that. I am anxious to try the balls, I guess if there in you can't forget or ignore them.

No, there is no funny walk involved. Really, if you get them, practice at home where you are comfortable and can take them out easily, until you get used to them.

In fact, the only time I realised I was going to have a problem having them in was when we were on vacation and staying in a hill town, walking up and downhill all the time. It would seem that since walking uphill requires a definite set of muscles, the kegels are somewhat relaxed at that point. I removed them as soon as I could, and didn't bother for the rest of that vacation.

Misty, the smart balls don't make any noise at all. I just checked your link to the wikipedia page for ben wa balls, and I also have a set that look like those. What's funny is that sometimes when I insert those, I can hear them, and at other times, I can't. DH has never ever heard them. Of course, he's going slightly deaf, he often doesn't hear me talking to him either. lol But I think that in an office there is so much background noise anyway, that they wouldn't be heard. I agree with you, it's often associated with the sensation of them moving that makes me aware of the sound.

And I wear them almost every day. I don't like wearing them for long car trips, however.

With prolonged use of the balls, doing the kegels becomes instinctive, or at least it has done for me. I have always done Kegels, before I even knew that is what I was doing, because when I was younger I used to sail on small boats - guys can just pee over the side, girls have to hold it, or jump over board and pretend they are swimming. lol Squeezing to hold on is a use of the kegels.

Improving the strength of the Kegels had effects during sex. My husband nearly goes out of his mind because he feels like I'm giving him a penile massage, and strong kegels can contribute to triggering g-spot orgasms, in my experience.

I have a friend who says she can practically pick her husband up now, using her muscles, and it's actually a very good description.

No, no wetting problem. In fact, strengthening the kegels, with or without using these balls, is meant to help prevent accidental bladder leaks, wether it is in women who are dealing with post partum recovery, getting older, or ... whatever.

Hers as she explained it to me was not a bladder problem but from the vagina.

Well I am going to start trying to remember to do them. Maybe I'll look into getting those balls.

Is it wetness from arousal? I have never had any problems with vaginal wetness; however, when I have had orgasms while wearing the ben wah balls, there is a lot of mucus type liquid that comes out with the balls (when I remove them). I don't think it's created from the orgasm, but from the arousal.

BTW, the are great to wear in the shower! I often wear them for a while prior to getting in the shower, and remove them after my pleasure in the shower. It's convenient too because they should be washed upon removal.
