I think it depends on the guy and it depends on how he makes you feel.
It is disgusting if the guy who stares at you is vulgar and nasty, it might be a turn on if the guy is handsome and sexy. In general, I think most men are thinking of sex whether or not they are looking on your crotch are.
Maybe. But there's a BIG difference in sneaking a peek and blatantly ogling some woman's crotch! That would creep me out personally and signal a perv alert.
Well, I've been leered at before, and it sure doesn't feel like a compliment to me. It makes me feel like a piece of meat. If a man looks me in the eyes and smiles, that's flirting. Leering at a body part is disrespectful.
Where did it say anywhere that leering or focusing was a compliment?
The original post mentioned focus. Per dictionary.com, it means "Close or narrow attention; concentration". In which case, Perv applies.
Leer, on the other hand,
"leer ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lîr) intr.v. leered, leer·ing, leers To look with a sidelong glance, indicative especially of sexual desire or sly and malicious intent.
n. A desirous, sly, or knowing look."
I would hope that depending on whom is doing the leering (like SO), your feeling would change.
No one in this thread did say that ogling was a compliment but the reactions of strange men in MY past who were surprised at MY negative reaction to it, was my reference.
And I think I made my comments pretty clear. Being ogled by someone I know, love and trust, like my DH, is a very different experience than being ogled by a complete stranger, which obviously, is who I was referring to.
