Waxing...

So I hate shaving...hate it hate it hate it....

So...I finally decide to wax it, knowing I won't see my BF until tomorrow, and all redness will subside...

Now I am getting worried...I only did my bikini zone for lack of time.. the pain was not nearly as bad as waxing my top lip...but I bled from the hair root. Not a big deal...but now it has been hours and the little red marks are still there! The skin is as smooth as a baby, which I love...but I can't be red tomorrow! Talk about ruining the moment!

Have any of you had this problem??? What can I do to help it?

Ha ha. I once waxed my bikini area and it looked like I'd caught a disease. And it looked that way for MONTHS. It literally took that long for all the ingrowns to subside.

I also hate shaving - so I don't do it. And not surprisingly, I've given up on waxing. A trim is as good as it gets these days.

You can't have red marks? Why is that? Is there a full body inspection before sex? Will he run away, screaming in horror at the disgusting sight? Do you honestly think he will notice, let alone CARE?

I'm with Aisha.....natural. Shaving, waxing, or anything else. It's all a ridiculous waste of time and energy, and money. Take me the way I am, or not at all.

There is a cream available that works wonders for this. It's available at the sex toy parties that I have went to. I can't think of the name of it, but if you ever go to one of these parties or know of someone that is going, you should ask them to ask the person selling the items at the party.

OK from a guy who has waxed his crack and sack, just leaving a moustache leading to jacob's ladder, I know about these little red spot's
I suggest you try a moisturiser containing 'Witch Hazel bcp' which help's soothe irritation

I agree, it's all a matter of personal preference.

the thing I don't get is "why complain"?

When shaving is no big deal and takes little time and energy - that's great. I never hear you or similar posters complain.

However I've seen many posts on different iVillage sex boards where women complain about the time, effort and lumps. They complain about what a drag it is to be a woman and *have* to shave their pubes. They give sympathy to other women who are also complaining about it and agree that it's a PIA. Yet they still persist and they still complain. Why do women who hate shaving keep doing it? Why do they choose a beauty regime that they find is high maintenance and a PIA?

Haven't they already got enough legitimate issues in their lives without adding unnecessary extras to complain about? Or perhaps they'd just find something else to complain about anyway ;-)

Hi, Just a lurker getting the nerve to post my own question. And I also know your rendezvous is past but wanted to add my 2 cents about waxing.

I am not *complaining* just stating the facts as they pertain to me.

I am VERY HAIRY. I would scare you at the beach! I feel good about myself and more confident sexually if I am, shall we say well groomed. And it feels good on so many levels. My DH likes it too and will spend more time there, so that is always a bonus. I also get ingrown hairs real easily, very sensitive skin, and can not handle itchy shaved hair growing in.

...so I have taken to waxing my upper leg and bikini area.

I started with just the straight bikini, and now go almost total bikini bare or *Brazilian*. (Just a little mustache or triangle in the front as someone else described, but I’m not a guy, lol) I highly recommend you get it done professionally. The first time I tried myself I bled, and then bruised for weeks. When done at a salon it is fast and easy and does not really hurt. Getting your lower leg waxed hurt so much more. I shave that. The people who wax are typically very professional, trained and do not even bat an eye. It also lasts a long time and when it grows in it is soft and thin. When a professional does it, you do not bled, get red, or anything. When you walk out the door you are set.

So if you did not mind the sting, next time get it done at a salon. It is worth every penny.

I agree! The little bit of shaving I do takes LESS time than it goes to shave my legs or do my makeup each day for work. If I thought it was a PITA or hated it, I sure as heck wouldn't do it.

There are so many things I *have* to do in my life, every day. Shaving isn't one of 'em. And bless DH, he doesn't care if I shave, get hairy, braid it in cornrows or dye it purple. He's just happy that it's *there*, lol.
