Waxing...

So I hate shaving...hate it hate it hate it....

So...I finally decide to wax it, knowing I won't see my BF until tomorrow, and all redness will subside...

Now I am getting worried...I only did my bikini zone for lack of time.. the pain was not nearly as bad as waxing my top lip...but I bled from the hair root. Not a big deal...but now it has been hours and the little red marks are still there! The skin is as smooth as a baby, which I love...but I can't be red tomorrow! Talk about ruining the moment!

Have any of you had this problem??? What can I do to help it?

Just thought I'd interject here....I used to wax but still have issues with ingrown hairs and redness after. 100% aloe vera gel is the best that I have found for getting rid of the redness. Also, Sally Hansen Bikin Plus (at any drug store) was great for ingrowns.

I just recently began laser hair removal for my bikini area. I am splurging on myself because of the redness and ingrowns and the growth in between waxing sessions (my hair grows fast and it's thick and dark). So far it's fabulous and I expect it to cost around $1000 - and it's virtually permanent. It hurts less than waxing, it's like snapping a rubber band to your skin.

Anyway, thought I'd share my experiences and my two cents -> I shaved, waxed and now lasered my hair off because I feel sexier when I am fully groomed down below. I also feel cleaner. Yes, I do this for my partner but I do it for myself just as much.

Depending on whether or not you have time or the means to do this, you can go to a salon and buy what they call Instant Comfort....it stops the burning and also helps reduce redness. Also, I would recommend that you use lotion with aloe....that may help. Other than that, the redness is something that you just have to deal with.

Wow, I want to thank ALL of you for your responses, a lot of great things for me to try.

I did want to apologize to anyone that took my post as a complaint, I surely didn't mean to come off that way, and never expected anyone to have to endure such a thing. It was never my intention to bring such negativity to the board.

In the future, I shall word my posts much more carefully.

Not to offend anyone, but I have been posting on IV for many yrs, and I'll tell ya what works for me when I don't like a post...the back button on top of my browser. Bill Gates is a genius...

Again..thanks to everyone for their input...
