Ok i have a best friend that is married and she has been married for a little over 6 years. She has had an affair with the same man for 6 years and of course she is deeply in love with him and not her husband now. Me and her have been best friends for 13 years and i am there for her whenever she needs to talk or need advice. I love her like she is my sis and and i want her to

I have been in this situation a number of times and I usually stay out of it unless someone asks for my opinion.

I have a best friend who's ex husband had a series of affairs....

From the flip side of the coin....it's pure hell to have this go on and no one tell you. While neither I nor most of her good friends knew what he was doing....there were some who did. It was very difficult for her to know that people who called themselves friends did not tell her what was going on. Yes, people don't want to get involved....but she needed to know and having that knowledge could have helped her to take certain steps that would have made her separation easier.

To this day she does not call those people friends any longer.

A true friend does not sit idle while a friend is being hurt....even if she doesn't know it.

Hi Mrspe, there are some women who know that their spouses are having affairs but want to pretend that it isnt happening and would not want their friends to even broach the subject.

I agree with you Nikki....there are women who turn a blind eye to an errant husband...and bringing up an affair could be harmful to a friendship in that case...

I think your solution is a good one....let her know without actually sitting her down and telling her...then later be there to offer support.

In my friend's case, her teenage daughter saw her father with the other woman and the situation was quite clear to her. She went home to a mother who not only had to quickly
